What height floor lamp suits a reading corner?
Total height 60 to 65 inches with the bottom of the shade at 40 to 42 inches from the floor — just above shoulder height of a seated reader. This places the light source on the page without glare into the eyes.
Where should I place a floor lamp in the living room?
Beside a sofa with a side table, in a reading corner with a chair, or in an empty corner to anchor visual mass and balance a tall plant or piece of art. Avoid the geometric centre of the room — floor lamps need a context.
Are these floor lamps smart-bulb compatible?
Yes for replaceable-bulb designs (E14 / E27). Sealed integrated-LED floor lamps are not third-party smart-bulb compatible because the LED is built in. Confirm bulb type if smart control is important.
What switch options are available?
Foot-pedal switches are most convenient for reading lamps. In-line cord switches are common but require leaning over to reach. Smart-bulb compatibility lets you dim and schedule from voice or app.
