Know your light

This art deco floor lamp stands 165 cm tall on a brass-finish metal pole, topped with a tiered shade of alabaster-style cream and black marble-effect acrylic panels framed in brass. Lit, the panels glow like backlit stone. The 450 mm wide shade spreads warm light across a seating area without the harshness of a ceiling fixture. A foot switch on the cord handles on and off — no wall switch, no ceiling work. Made by Jagmag Lights in Greater Noida, India.

Where it fits

  • Drawing room corner: Place beside a sofa or accent chair in a 10×12 ft room. The 165 cm height puts light near eye level when seated, reducing glare and giving the room a layered, warm look.
  • Bedroom TV wall: Set beside or behind the viewing chair. The diffused alabaster-effect glow eliminates the blue-screen eye strain of overhead lights without waking a sleeping partner.
  • Foyer or corridor: Works in spaces with 9-ft to 12-ft ceilings where a ceiling pendant would be too formal. The 300 mm base keeps it stable on marble, wood, or carpeted floors.
  • Study or reading nook: A single E27 warm-white LED at 2700–3000K through the cream acrylic panels gives soft, focused light ideal for late-night reading without overhead glare.

Why you’ll use it every day

You come home, switch off the main lights, and click the foot switch. The tiered alabaster panels light up — warm, layered, soft. That’s the version of your living room overhead lights can’t create. The foot switch means you never reach past the shade or fumble in the dark; it sits on the cord at floor level, exactly where your foot finds it. The 450 mm shade casts light wide enough to cover a sofa and a side table without needing to be repositioned. When guests arrive, a glowing floor lamp in the corner does more for atmosphere than any ceiling light dimmer.

For a warmer amber glow, the Gold Floor Lamp with Amber Glass Spheres is a strong alternative. For a directed reading beam, the Black LED Floor Lamp with Adjustable Head is a practical choice.

Light & finish

Unlit, the shade panels have a cream and dark marble quality — the brass framework catches ambient light along its edges. Switch on: the alabaster-style acrylic glows evenly across all tiers, the black panels create contrast, and the room fills with warm, layered light rather than a single flat wash. The brass-finish metal pole is 25 mm in diameter — slim enough to disappear against a wall from across the room, rigid enough to hold the shade assembly without flex. This lamp suits warm-toned interiors: cream, beige, or ochre walls, dark teak or walnut furniture, any room with gold or brass hardware already in it.

Vaastu & positive energy

In Vaastu Shastra, warm light in the south-east corner of a living room is traditionally associated with active, positive energy. The tiered shade distributes light in all directions — no single harsh beam — which is considered supportive of smooth energy flow through a space. Brass-finish metal is traditionally linked to warmth and prosperity in Vaastu-influenced interiors. The alabaster-style cream acrylic brings brightness without cold-white glare, which is associated with clarity and calm. A balanced, symmetrical shade form — two identical lamps flanking a sofa, for instance — is considered harmonising. Many buyers place this lamp in the north-east zone of the home for calm and clarity.

Common questions

How tall should an art deco floor lamp be for a living room?

An art deco floor lamp for a living room should stand between 140 and 180 cm tall. This puts the light near eye level when seated, reducing glare and spreading warm light where it counts. This lamp stands 165 cm — ideal for rooms with 9-ft to 12-ft ceilings.

Can an art deco floor lamp replace a ceiling light?

Yes — for mood lighting and reading in a seated area, an art deco floor lamp can fully replace a ceiling light. For dining areas or rooms needing even overhead illumination you still want ceiling light, but for a living room corner or beside a bed, a floor lamp gives better, softer light.

What bulb does this art deco floor lamp take?

It takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W — LED or incandescent, both work. A warm-white LED at 2700–3000K gives the best glow through the alabaster-effect panels. E27 LEDs are available at any Indian electrical shop or online.

Where is this art deco floor lamp made?

Made by Jagmag Lights in Greater Noida, India. In-house manufacturing means spare parts are available long after purchase, and custom finishes can be arranged on request.

Can I customise this art deco floor lamp?

Yes — Jagmag manufactures in-house. Custom finishes, heights, and shade options are available on request. Lead time for custom orders is 15–20 working days from confirmation.

How long does delivery take?

Standard delivery is 7–10 working days across India. Jagmag’s team offers a free installation support call after delivery — call or WhatsApp to arrange it.
