Designer Floor Lamp – Stacked Alabaster Column
A designer floor lamp made of four blocks of real alabaster, two diamonds and two cubes, stacked on a slim stainless steel column in a brushed brass finish. A craftsman cuts and hollows each block by hand, so no two lamps match. Switch it on with your foot and the stone glows warm from inside, every grey vein showing, on steel that will not rust.

Overview
This designer floor lamp is four blocks of real alabaster, stacked on a slim steel column, each one glowing warm from within. It stands 152 cm (60 in) tall. Two diamond-cut stones and two cubes take turns up the square stem, so the light changes shape as it climbs. Switch it on with your foot and the whole column lights up like a row of lanterns carved from stone.

Think of the corner you never know what to do with. Stand this lamp there and it becomes the first thing people notice. Off, it is a stone sculpture. On, it warms the whole wall.
What makes this a designer floor lamp?
Most floor lamps are a shade on a stick. Here the stone is the lamp. There is no fabric shade and no glass to hide the material, so the shape you see in the day is the shape that glows at night.
It is a true column floor lamp: a square stem, four stones and a low base, with nothing added for show. That is what suits warm-minimal, modern classic and Japandi rooms, with plaster or limewash walls, bouclé, linen, oak and travertine around it.
Real alabaster, cut into diamonds and cubes by hand
Alabaster is a soft, translucent stone formed beneath the earth over thousands of years. Light passes through it, so when the lamp is on, every grey vein inside the stone shows like a fine pencil line.
In our own factory in India, a craftsman reads each block before he cuts it. The diamonds are faceted to a point at the top and bottom. The cubes are squared and polished smooth. He hollows every block so the light can sit inside it. That is what makes this a true stacked stone lamp: four pieces of real stone, one above the other, each lit from within. Because it is natural stone, no two lamps carry the same veining.
The column and the 30 × 20 cm base are 304-grade stainless steel with a brushed brass finish. The steel is the frame, not the hero. It will not rust, and the heavy base keeps the tall lamp steady.
Where this sculptural floor lamp works best
- In the bedroom. Beside a reading chair or in the corner by the bed, it gives a soft, warm glow for the evening without a bright bulb in your eyes. See our floor lamps for bedroom, or all our bedroom lights.
- In the living room. Next to a sofa, an armchair or a sideboard, it turns an empty corner into a piece of sculpture. See our living room floor lamps.
- In hotel lobbies, lounges and showrooms. A pair either side of a doorway or a console makes a quiet, grand entrance.
This designer floor lamp gives a gentle mood glow, so pair it with a ceiling light or a reading lamp where you need bright light to work.
Light, switch and warranty
The LED is built in, so this designer floor lamp needs no bulbs to buy or change. It gives a 3000K warm-white glow through all four stones. It is not dimmable.
The lamp plugs into a normal wall socket. The black cord has a foot switch near the floor, so you can turn it on and off without bending down. It is rated IP65, sealed against dust and water. There is nothing to fit, and we offer free video-call support if you want a hand.
The stainless steel carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. The built-in LED is covered for 1 year on the same orders. Read the details in our Legal Policies.

Leave room beside seating; mind the shade height.
Vastu
Vastu guides usually favour the north and east walls for light fixtures. They link the south-east with the fire element, so a soft lamp can sit there, as a gentle glow and not as the main light of the room.
The same guides prefer natural materials such as stone, wood and metal over plastic. For a bedroom they ask for warm, soft light and no strong light above the bed. For a living room they ask for lamps that do not glare. This designer floor lamp stands on the floor and sends its warm light out through stone, so you see the glow and not the source.
Vastu is a tradition of arranging a home so it feels right. We don’t promise luck, only a calmer room to come home to.
