About Fabric Pendant Lights

Fabric pendant lights, or fabric hanging lights, are ceiling lights shaded in silk, linen or cotton, for homes that want soft, glare-free light over a table, island or bed. The shade does the work, spreading the glow evenly.

In our own factory in India, hands pleat the silk and stitch the linen over its frame. Thread is wound fold by fold.

Switch one on and every pleat and fold shows in the warm light.

How do you size and fit fabric pendant lights?

Over a dining table, hang the bottom of the shade 75–85 cm above the top. Use one pendant for every 60–75 cm of table length. Over a kitchen island, a row of two or three 40 cm shades works well.

Pendants hang on 1.5 m as standard, shortened at installation. Holder lights come without a bulb, so fit a 3000K warm-white LED. Any licensed electrician fits one in 20–30 minutes.

Why buy fabric pendant lights from the maker?

Each shade is cut, pleated or stitched by hand in our own Greater Noida factory. We have made lights there since 2015. It hangs from 304-grade stainless steel, with a lifetime rust warranty on orders from 4 October 2026. In-stock pieces ship in 4 working days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a fabric light good over a dining table?
Yes. A fabric shade spreads light softly over the table without glare. Hang it 75 to 85 cm above the top. On holder lights, fit a 3000K warm-white LED bulb (not included); integrated-LED pieces are 3000K built in.
Where do fabric hanging lights work best?
Anywhere you want soft light with no glare: over a dining table, a kitchen island, beside the bed or in a reading corner. Silk and linen spread the light evenly, and cane throws a gentle pattern on the walls. In a large hall, choose a wider shade so the glow fills the room.
How do I clean a fabric ceiling light?
Switch it off and let it cool. Dust the shade every week with a soft brush, or a vacuum on low with a brush head. For a mark, dab with a barely damp cloth; never soak the fabric.
Are fabric pendant lights dimmable?
No. JagMag lights are not dimmable. Integrated LEDs are 3000K warm white, and holder lights take a 3000K warm-white LED bulb, which is not included.
What is a fabric pendant lamp?
A fabric pendant lamp is a light that hangs from the ceiling with a cloth shade, such as silk, linen or cotton, around the bulb. The cloth scatters the light, so you see a soft glow and not a bright point. Ours run from 25 to 90 cm wide.
Is linen or cotton better for a pendant lamp shade?
Both spread light well, and the tightness of the weave matters more than the fibre. Linen has the edge on a shade: it is stiffer and stronger, so it holds its shape on the frame. Read our linen vs cotton guide for the numbers.
