Wooden Wall Light – 51 cm Round Black Wood Disc with Warm Halo Glow

Switch it on and a warm ring of light opens up around a dark wooden moon. The disc stays black. The wall behind it glows.

This wooden wall light is a 51 cm (20 in) disc of carved solid wood, finished matte black, held off the wall on a 304-grade stainless steel backplate. One G9 bulb sits behind the disc and lights the wall, not your eyes. Off, it reads as a quiet black circle. On, it becomes a halo.

Solid wood, carved and finished by hand

Wood takes years to grow. Every ring of that growth is still in this disc.

Our craftsman carves the disc into a shallow dome, slim at the rim and fuller at the centre. Then he finishes it matte black and leaves the grain open, so the rings and knots still show through the black. A small matte black cap sits at the centre. No two discs carry the same grain.

When the light comes on, the wood does not glow. It holds still while warm light spills out from behind its edge. The wood becomes the shadow that shapes the light.

Where a wooden wall light works best

• Beside the bed: mount it 140–150 cm from the floor, one on each side of the headboard. The 51 cm disc anchors a large wall but won’t crowd a standard headboard. Browse more bedroom wall lights.

It sits well with linen headboards, natural plaster walls, cane furniture, and warm grey or off-white walls. It suits modern minimalist, Japandi, wabi-sabi, Scandinavian and contemporary rooms. Skip it in very ornate classical rooms, or on glazed tile walls that are hard to drill.

Light and fitting

The G9 holder sits behind the disc and takes up to 40 W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white G9 LED of 4–6 W: it gives the warmest halo and uses far less power than an old halogen capsule. Any standard G9 LED sold in India will fit.

This light is not dimmable. With a 3000K LED it gives a fixed warm light. It runs on 220–240 V and is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

The backplate is 304-grade stainless steel with a matte black finish, so it blends into the disc and the fixture reads as one clean circle. Stainless steel does not rust. It carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.

It is hardwired through the backplate with two wall screws. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we give free video-call support while they do. The disc rim sits about 6.8 cm off the wall, which is what lets the halo spread. Keep about 16 cm clear in front of it. To keep the matte black sharp, hang it out of direct sun.

We make it in our own Greater Noida factory, as we have since 2015. In-stock pieces leave within 4 working days. Made-to-order pieces take 12–15 working days. A custom size, finish or colour takes 15–20 days. Importers quote 60–120 days.
