Up Down Wall Light – Opal Glass Wall Sconce, Satin Brass Finish, 35 cm

Switch it on and your wall glows twice: warm light rising to the ceiling, soft light pooling below. This up down wall light does it from one slim fitting, 35 cm tall and just 15 cm off the wall.

Two hand-blown shades sit on a round backplate. A tall cylinder sends light up. A rounded dome spills it down. You never see the G9 bulbs, only an even, glare-free glow.

Opal borosilicate glass, blown by hand

Glass starts in the earth. Ours is borosilicate glass, melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina.

White colour is added while the glass is made. That is what makes it opal. The colour is in the glass itself, not painted on.

Our glassblower shapes each shade by breath and by hand, so no two are exactly alike. Light the bulb and the opal glass softens it to a milky, even glow. No hot spot. No glare in your eyes.

The frame that carries the glass is 304-grade stainless steel in a satin brass finish. It will not rust. Orders from 4 October 2026 carry a lifetime warranty against rusting on the steel parts.

Where does an up down wall light work best?

Mount a pair beside your headboard, 140–150 cm from the floor. Each side gets light up and light down. That reads far better than one bulb overhead.

It works in other rooms as well. Use a pair in a drawing room or living room, where you want warmth without a floor lamp. Light a hallway, a staircase landing or an entrance hall at 180–200 cm. Frame a dressing or vanity mirror at about 160–170 cm, away from splashes, since this is an indoor IP20 light. Or add a soft accent to a pooja corner.

Light and fitting

Each shade takes one G9 bulb, so there are two G9 holders in all. Bulbs are not included. Fit a 4–6 W warm-white LED at 3000K in each.

The holders are rated up to 40 W per lamp. LED keeps the glass cool and your power bill low.

This light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm glow.

It runs on 220–240 V and is rated IP20, for indoor use. The round backplate mounts flat to the wall with two screws, and no conduit is required. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes. We help on a free video call.
