Know your light
The alabaster disc wall light Eclipse centres a 25 cm slab of natural translucent stone on a hardwired black metal base, projecting just 9 cm from the wall. When the integrated LED switches on, warm light seeps through the veined alabaster and halos around its rim — an eclipse-like accent glow rather than a bright lamp. Switched off, the white-and-beige stone reads as a sculptural object on the wall. Designed for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and hospitality spaces where you want ambient warmth without a visible bulb.
Where it fits
- Beside the bed — at 120–140 cm, the back-glow is calm enough to read by without waking a partner, and because the LED is integrated there is never a bulb to replace at midnight.
- Living-room accent — single beside a console or artwork at 150–160 cm, it holds the wall without competing with the sofa arrangement; paired either side of a mirror, it brings quiet symmetry.
- Hallway welcome — at only 9 cm projection it stays well clear of a passing shoulder, while the warm stone glow signals home from the doorway.
- Guest room or hospitality wall — a symmetric pair flanking a headboard turns a plain painted wall into a feature that guests notice and remember.
Why you’ll use it every day
Alabaster is translucent, so the LED behind it becomes a soft, even glow — comfortable for tired eyes and warm enough to wind down by without reaching for a separate dimmer. The integrated LED means no bulb to source, no fittings to match, and nothing to ever change. Switch it off and the stone is still there: a 25 cm natural disc on the wall that earns its place as décor. As a pair, the matching stones do the decorating work by themselves — quiet symmetry that takes seconds to notice and is difficult to explain once gone.
Hand-cut from natural alabaster — which means no two are alike. The veins run differently. The colour shifts. The edges darken where the stone is denser. Light it up and you get a glow that belongs to your piece and nothing else. One block of stone. One light. Never repeated.
Light & finish
Lit, the warm LED casts a halo of light around the stone rim and diffuses through the body of the disc — the effect is close to candlelight: intimate, shadow-free, warm at the edges. Because every natural alabaster slab has its own veining pattern, the glow looks slightly different from any mass-produced opal-glass alternative. Unlit, the white and beige stone sits flat against the wall as a smooth, matte disc — the black metal base and centre cap recede and the stone is the only thing you see. It pairs naturally with warm-white walls, limewash, plaster, marble surfaces and earthy linens. Works equally well in modern, transitional and luxury-hospitality schemes.
Vaastu & positive energy
In Vaastu, natural stone like alabaster is associated with the earth element, traditionally linked with stability and grounding. White is associated with purity and clarity. The round form is traditionally considered to allow energy to circulate smoothly, without sharp corners that can interrupt flow. Soft light diffused through stone is commonly associated with a calm, restful atmosphere — preferable to direct overhead brightness in bedrooms and living areas. A balanced pair placed symmetrically is associated with harmony. These are design associations, not guaranteed outcomes.

It fits well beside the bed without looking too heavy. The stone finish is easy to match. 👍
Common questions
How large is the alabaster disc?
The disc is 25 cm (9.8 in) in diameter and approximately 1 cm thick, mounted on a 13.3 cm black metal base with a 9 cm projection from the wall.
Does the stone actually glow?
Yes. Natural alabaster is translucent — the integrated LED shines through it and halos around the rim in a warm, diffused ring. Every disc has slightly different veining, so no two fittings look identical when lit.
Is a separate bulb needed?
No. The warm LED is integrated into the fitting — there is nothing to buy, source or replace. The light comes ready to hardwire.
Can it go in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. The Eclipse Disc is rated IP20 — suitable for indoor dry locations only. Living rooms, hallways and bedrooms are ideal environments.
What height should I mount it, and can I buy a pair?
As an accent light, 150–160 cm from the floor works well; beside a bed, 120–140 cm brings the glow to resting eye level. It pairs beautifully — browse our full wall lights collection to find complementary fittings.
What interiors does alabaster suit?
Natural alabaster pairs with warm timber, marble, plaster, linen and stone — it suits modern, transitional and luxury-hospitality schemes. It looks softer and more natural than opal glass in the same disc form.
