Smoked Glass Teardrop Pendant Light – 20 cm Hanging Bedside Light with Opal Globe

Switch it on and the smoke turns to a soft grey glow. This hanging bedside light is a teardrop of smoked borosilicate glass, 34 cm tall and 20 cm wide. An opal borosilicate glass globe sits in its open mouth, half inside, half below. Hang one beside your bed and free up the whole nightstand.

Here’s the standout detail. The smoked shell darkens near the canopy and pales toward the rim, so it reads like a drop of glass even with the light off.

What is this glass, and what does light do with it?

Glass begins as earth. Ours is borosilicate glass, melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina. For the shell, smoke colour is added while the glass is made. For the globe, white colour is added, which gives you opal glass. The glass is then blown into its teardrop and globe shapes in our Greater Noida factory.

When the light comes on, it passes through two layers. The opal globe softens the bulb to an even glow with no bright point. The smoked shell around it catches that glow and holds it as a quiet grey haze. No glare on your face. No hot spot on the ceiling.

Where does a teardrop pendant work best?

As a bedroom pendant light, hang one on each side of the bed for calm symmetry. You get reading light without a table lamp in the way.

In the living room, drop it beside a sofa or a lounge chair as a warm reading corner. Over a small round table or a dining nook, hang two at different heights. Light and fitting

It takes an E14 bulb, up to 40W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 4–6W warm-white LED at 3000K. The opal globe turns even that small LED into a smooth, warm glow.

The round canopy and holder are 304-grade stainless steel in a matte black powder-coated finish. Stainless steel does not rust, and it carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. The light hangs on Teflon-coated copper wire, 1.5 m as standard, shortened by your electrician at installation. It is not dimmable. It is rated IP20 for indoor rooms and runs on 220–240V.
