Overview
Some lights fill a room. This one warms a corner. This opal white light is a globe wall sconce: a 15 cm opal borosilicate glass globe resting in a brass-finish cup, on a curved stem 55 cm tall. Switch it on and the whole globe glows, soft and even, with no bulb in sight.
It stands 22 cm off the wall. That depth lets the globe read as an object, even in daylight. The cup is 18 cm across and holds the lower half of the sphere, so light rises to the ceiling and spreads across the wall.
What is an opal white globe made of?
Glass begins as earth. Ours is borosilicate glass, melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina. White colour goes in while the glass is made. That is what makes it opal.
The globe is moulded into a clean 15 cm sphere. Clear borosilicate glass lets light pass straight through. Opal softens it. You see a steady glow, never a filament or a hot spot.
The cup, stem and round backplate are 304-grade stainless steel in a brass finish. Our team in Greater Noida shapes the stem, fits the cup and finishes the steel. Steel is the frame here. The glowing glass is the hero.
Where does this globe wall sconce work best?
Beside the bed. Mount a pair 140–150 cm from the floor. You get warm reading light, and the bedside table stays clear.
In the living room. Hang one above a console or a small round table. It adds a warm layer next to your ceiling light. It also sits well beside globe chandeliers in the same brass tone.
Down a corridor or hallway. Fix it at 180–200 cm to lift a dark stretch of wall.
Beside a mirror or a mandir wall. Centre it at about 160–170 cm. In a bathroom, keep it well outside the splash zone. This is an IP20 indoor light.
It suits homes and hotels, modern rooms and classic ones. The brass finish bridges both.
Light, fitting and finish
The globe takes one G9 bulb, max 5 W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white G9 LED for the warmest glow through the opal glass.
The light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm light. It runs on 220–240V and is wired straight to the wall through the round backplate. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes with a standard two-wire connection. We give free video-call support while you install.
Every metal part is 304-grade stainless steel. It carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. Want matte black, chrome or antique brass instead? We make other finishes, globe sizes and arm lengths on request.

Vastu
Vastu guidance for bedrooms prefers soft wall lights or lamps over harsh light straight above the bed. Warm, yellow-white light is favoured for the evening. A low, steady glow beside the bed fits that idea well.

Where does a globe wall sconce look best?
Beside a bed, as a matched pair at 140–150 cm from the floor. A single one also works at the end of a corridor or above a console, at 180–200 cm.
What bulb does this opal white light use?
One G9 bulb, max 5 W, and the bulb is not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white G9 LED for the softest glow through the opal glass.
Is this wall light dimmable?
No. This light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm 3000K light.
Can I use it as the only light in a room?
In a bedroom or small room, yes, especially as a bedside pair. In a large living room, pair it with a ceiling light and let this one carry the warm accent layer.
