Flying Saucer Pendant Light – Smoke Glass Hanging Light, 2 Sizes (Gold/Black)

Some lights fill a room. This glass hanging light holds your table. A 40 cm disc of smoked borosilicate glass floats above it, and a opal borosilicate glass tube glows warm in the middle. No bare bulb. No glare. Just a soft pool of light where you eat and talk.

We call it the flying saucer pendant. The disc is borosilicate glass, tinted smoke grey. It has two rings, a flat outer rim and a shallow inner dish, so the edge catches a quiet grey halo when the light is on. The cap and the lower ring are 304-grade stainless steel, in a warm gold finish or matte black. Pick Model A at 16 cm tall or Model B at 22 cm, with a longer glowing tube.

Glass that starts as sand

Glass begins in the earth, as silica sand. Fire melts it. Hands and moulds give it shape. Borosilicate glass is the kind made to handle heat, which is why it suits a light you switch on every night.

In our Greater Noida factory, a craftsman seats the frosted tube inside the smoke disc, centres it, and fits the steel cap and ring around them. He checks the disc sits level, because a tilted saucer is the first thing you would notice from your chair.

Switch it on and the light does three things. The frosted tube glows evenly, with no hotspot. The smoke tint softens what spills sideways. And most of the light falls down, onto your plates and faces.

Where a glass hanging light works best

Over a round dining table, one is enough. It lights a table for four. Over a long rectangular table, hang two in a row, about 60–70 cm apart. Over a kitchen island, three in a line give a calm rhythm.

It also works as a single bedside drop, in place of a table lamp, and over a café or restaurant counter as a focused task light. The flat saucer shape reads as a floating accent, not a hanging obstacle.

Light, steel and fitting

The light source is a built-in LED, 3000K warm white. There is no bulb to buy or change. The integrated LED carries a 1-year warranty on the LED module, for orders placed from 4 October 2026.

Every metal part is 304-grade stainless steel, not iron. It does not rust, and we back that with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. The finish is gold or matte black.

It hangs on an adjustable Teflon-coated copper wire, so you set the drop for your ceiling. It runs on 220–240V and is rated IP20, for indoor use. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we help free on a video call.
