Swing Arm Wall Lamp – Satin Nickel Finish, Off-White Linen Shade, 38 cm Adjustable Reach

You sit up in bed with a book. You pull the light in. When you’re done, you push it back to the wall. That is what a swing arm wall lamp does, and this one does it with an off-white linen shade on a satin nickel arm of 304-grade stainless steel.

It stands 26.5 cm tall. The arm swings out up to 38 cm from the wall, and folds back to roughly 10–12 cm. No table lamp to knock over. No cord across your charging pad. Your bedside table stays free. Linen that softens the light

Linen is a natural fibre, spun from the stem of the flax plant. It belongs to the fibre family we love working with, next to cotton, jute and cane.

Our team cuts the linen and fits it by hand over a tapered drum frame. We leave the weave as it is. Switch the lamp on and light passes through that weave as a soft, even glow.

The open top and bottom of the drum let light go both ways. Some washes up the wall, some falls on your page. It reads as layered light, not a harsh point.

The arm, backplate and shade frame are 304-grade stainless steel with a satin nickel finish. It’s a low-lustre, brushed silver that suits grey, white and warm-toned walls. It doesn’t show fingerprints easily, and a quick wipe keeps it clean.

Where a swing arm wall lamp works best

Most people fit it beside the bed. Mount one or two at 140–150 cm from the floor, level with the headboard. The shade then sits at reading height when you sit up, and the light doesn’t spill onto your partner’s side.

It also suits a study alcove, a home-office corner, a reading chair in the drawing room, or a shelf wall in the living room. In a narrow hallway it gives light where a floor lamp would block the way. For a study wall or hallway, 170–180 cm keeps the shade above head height.

At full reach it comes out 38 cm, so keep about 45 cm clear in front of it. It looks at home in modern minimalist, Scandinavian, Japandi, contemporary and mid-century rooms. Think linen headboards, plaster walls and teak furniture. It’s less suited to very ornate, heavily gilded rooms.

Light and fitting: what you need to know

The lamp takes one E27 bulb, up to 60 W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 6–9 W, 3000K warm-white LED. It gives you good reading light and runs much cooler than an old bulb.

It runs on 220–240 V and is wired straight to a wall point through the backplate. Two screws and a standard wiring connection, and it’s up. It is not dimmable. It is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry indoor rooms.

All the steel is 304-grade stainless steel, with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.
