This fabric wall light is a wall lamp for bedroom walls, made to sit beside your bed. A pleated raw silk shade sits on a slim satin nickel arm with a natural wood accent. It stands 33 cm tall with a 26 cm shade. That is big enough to read by and small enough to sit beside a headboard without crowding it. Light leaves the open top and bottom of the shade, so you get a soft wash up the wall and a gentle pool below.

What is this fabric wall light made of?

The shade is raw silk, a natural fibre spun by silkworms and woven into cloth. Raw silk keeps a little slub and texture, so no two shades look machine-flat. Our craftsmen fold it into fine, even pleats and stretch it around the tapered shade. The pleats have to stay straight all the way round. That takes patience, one fold at a time.

Light changes the silk. Switched off, the shade is a soft off-white. Switched on, the pleats glow and every fold shows as a fine line of light and shadow.

The arm and the round wall plate are 304-grade stainless steel in a satin nickel finish, a soft cool grey. Steel is the frame here, not the hero. It is stainless, so it will not rust, and every stainless steel part carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. A natural wood accent finishes the stem below the shade, a warm touch you feel when you reach for it.

Where does a fabric wall light work best?

Beside the bed. Mount one on each side of the headboard at 140–150 cm from the floor. Sitting up in bed, the shade lands near shoulder height, right where you want light for a book. Keep it beside the headboard, not directly above it. See more bedroom wall lights and picture and reading lights.

A wall lamp with a shade takes no floor space and frees your bedside table. No floor lamp wobbling in a tight corner. Use it as the main light at night, or as a soft accent with the ceiling light off. One switch changes the mood of the room.

It suits modern, Japandi, Scandinavian, contemporary, classic Indian and bohemian rooms. It sits well with a linen headboard, a wooden bed frame, cane furniture and warm beige, grey or plaster walls. Skip it in very ornate classical rooms, or against busy wallpaper that fights the off-white shade.

Light, bulb and fitting

It takes one E27 bulb, up to 60 W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 6–8 W, 3000K warm-white LED for the warm glow you see in the photos. Cool white looks flat through silk.

The light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed, warm 3000K light with that bulb. It runs on 220–240V and is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms only.

The arm is fixed. The wall plate is hardwired to a wall point and held with two screws. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we give free video-call support while they do it.
