Red Round Wall Light – Nuvol Opal Glass Globe Sconce, 12 cm

It is late, and the ceiling light feels too much. You want one small, warm glow beside the bed. This round wall light gives you exactly that.

The Nuvol is a 12 cm ball of opal borosilicate glass on a round red base. One small switch sits on the base, so you can turn it on and off without leaving the bed.

Opal glass that turns a bulb into a soft glow

The globe is borosilicate glass. It starts as silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, melted together.

White colour is added while the glass is made. That is what makes it opal. The glass is then shaped into a round ball.

Switch it on and you never see the bulb. The whole ball glows, with no bright spot and no glare in your eyes.

Behind it sits a round base of 304-grade stainless steel, powder-coated red. The steel will not rust. That is backed by a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.

Where a round wall light works best

The red base is a small, bold note. It works on white plaster, beside linen and teak, and in grey or neutral rooms. It looks out of place in very ornate rooms with heavy gilt detailing.

Light, bulb and fitting

The light takes one G9 bulb, up to 40 W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 4–6 W, 3000K warm-white LED.

This light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed, warm 3000K glow with the right bulb.

It runs on 220–240 V and is rated IP20, for indoor use. It projects about 12 cm from the wall, so keep about 150 mm clear in front of it in a narrow hallway.
