Overview
Switch on this wood and glass pendant light and the room changes. A flat teak disc floats above a small opal borosilicate glass globe. Warm 3000K light pools on the table below. The gold ball on top catches the glow. It is quiet, sculptural and a little playful.
It is a pendant light built from three honest materials: a 30 cm teak wood disc in a deep walnut-brown tone with its natural grain (no veneer), an opal borosilicate glass globe, and gold-finish 304-grade stainless steel for the ball, stem and canopy. The wood absorbs light. The glass spreads it. That contrast is the whole idea.
Where the craftsman’s hand shows
The disc starts as a plank of teak in our Greater Noida factory. A craftsman reads the grain first, then cuts the circle, planes it flat and sands it until the walnut tone shows evenly from edge to centre. There is no veneer to hide behind, so the grain you see in the photos is the grain you get. Every tree is different, so no two discs match exactly.
The globe is opal borosilicate glass, melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, with white added while the glass is made. It hides the bulb completely. The ball, stem and ceiling canopy are 304-grade stainless steel with a gold finish. 304 stainless does not rust, which is why it carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.
Where a wood and glass pendant light fits
At 30 cm across, this wood and glass pendant light sits well over a kitchen island or a 4-seater dining table. Hang it 70–75 cm above a counter and 75–90 cm above a dining table. Two in a row, 60–70 cm apart, suit a table 150 cm and longer. Three suit tables 200 cm and above.
One on its own is a bedside light with real character, as the bedroom photo shows. It also works over a reading nook in place of a floor lamp, or as a focal point in a living room or open-plan drawing room. It suits Japandi, contemporary, warm minimalist, coastal and Indian eclectic rooms, and it pairs well with a marble island, a natural wood table, linen seating and brass or terracotta accents. Avoid ceilings under 8 ft and heavy classical interiors.

Light and fitting
The G9 socket takes a 4–6W warm LED, which any hardware store stocks. Maximum 40W. The opal globe diffuses the bulb fully, so there is no glare and no hot spot, just a soft wash of 3000K light on the surface below.
The drop adjusts up to 150 cm on a Teflon-coated copper wire and is set at installation. It hangs from a round gold-finish 304-grade stainless steel ceiling canopy. 220–240V, IP20, indoor only, one light, bulb not included. Vastu tradition places the dining table in the west or north-west of the home, with diners facing east, west or north. It favours a wooden table, teak above all, and a soft, warm light hung right over it. This wood and glass pendant light fits that thinking: a teak disc, warm 3000K light, and a globe that spreads it gently with no glare.
For a bedside, the same sources ask for warm light rather than harsh, nothing bright directly over the bed, and bedside lights kept in balance on both sides. Is this a good kitchen island pendant?
Yes. At 30 cm it suits a kitchen island well: hang it 70–75 cm above the counter, and use two or three in a row, 60–70 cm apart, on a longer island. The opal globe hides the bulb, so there is no glare while you cook.
Is a 30 cm wood and glass pendant light big enough for my dining table?
Yes for a 4-seater; use two for a table 150 cm and longer. Hang it 75–90 cm above the table top, and 70–75 cm above a kitchen counter. Three in a row suit tables 200 cm and above. Ask us for a quote on two or three.
Which bulb does this pendant take?
A G9 bulb, and we recommend a 4–6W warm white LED at 3000K. Maximum 40W. Bulbs are not included and any hardware store stocks G9 LEDs. The opal globe hides the bulb fully, so there is no glare.
Can I dim it?
No. This light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm 3000K light.
Will the gold parts rust or peel?
The ball, stem and canopy are 304-grade stainless steel, so they will not rust, and that carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026 (Legal Policies 4.1A). The warranty covers the steel itself, not the finish or electrics. Wipe the wood and glass with a dry or barely damp cloth.
How is it installed?
Any licensed electrician fits it to a ceiling point in 20–30 minutes. The drop is set at installation, up to 150 cm, and can be re-adjusted later without tools. We give free video-call support during the fitting if you want it.
How soon will it arrive, and can I get a custom size or finish?
In stock pieces dispatch within 4 working days; made to order takes 12–15 working days. A custom disc diameter or metal finish takes 15–20 days from our Greater Noida factory. Send us your ceiling height and table size and we will spec it out. Spare globes and canopies are stocked for 10+ years.
Is this an opal glass globe pendant light?
Yes. The globe is opal borosilicate glass, white all through, so the G9 bulb inside shows as a soft, even glow instead of a bright point. It hangs under a 30 cm teak wood disc in a walnut-brown tone, on gold-finish 304-grade stainless steel. Bulb not included; fit a 3000K warm-white LED.
