Wood Cone Pendant Light – Teak Shade, Brass Stem and Opal Glass Globe 10 Inch

Some lights fill a room. This one sits beside you. A small warm glow at the bedside, over the table, or above the desk where you work late.

This wood cone pendant light is a turned teak cone on a slim stem in brushed brass finish. An opal borosilicate glass globe sits just below the rim. The wood keeps the light warm and matte. The opal glass softens the bulb into an even glow.

Teak, turned by hand, and glass that softens the light

Teak is wood that took decades to grow its grain. It belongs to the wood family, with walnut, oak and sheesham.

Our craftsman turns the cone on a lathe. He shapes the long neck and the wide flare, then smooths the wood and finishes it a deep brown. The grain stays where the tree put it. So it runs differently on every piece, and yours looks made, not moulded.

The globe is opal borosilicate glass. It is melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, with white added while it is made. It turns a bare bulb into a soft, even glow. You can sit under it for hours without glare.

Switch it on and the globe glows warm and even. The inside of the cone catches a little light at the rim. Switch it off and it reads as a quiet sculptural cone: deep brown grain, brushed brass finish, black cord.

Where does a wood cone pendant light work best?

• Bedside or reading nook: the slim 6 inch (15 cm) shade hangs neatly beside a bed and frees the nightstand for books.
• Over a dining table: hang two or three in a row, or stagger a pair, for warm light over the table.
• Study or work table: the downward cone throws light onto the desk, not into your eyes.
• Entry, hallway or console: one piece adds a soft, natural glow without crowding a narrow space.

It suits Scandinavian, Japandi, mid-century modern, warm minimalist and rustic modern rooms. Pair it with oak and walnut furniture, cane, linen, stone and clay. Keep it away from high-gloss chrome or ornate crystal fixtures. It works in rooms from 7 ft × 7 ft, with a ceiling of 8 ft and above.

Light and fitting

The stem and ceiling canopy are 304-grade stainless steel with a brushed brass finish. Stainless steel does not rust. We back that with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.

The light is 10 inches (25 cm) tall and 6 inches (15 cm) wide. It hangs on a black fabric cord, 1.5 m as standard. Your electrician shortens it to the drop you want at installation.

It takes one E27 bulb, up to 60 W. The bulb is not included, so fit a 3000K warm-white LED. It gives the softest glow through the opal glass. A standard E27 bulb means no special parts, and you swap it in seconds. This light is not dimmable. It is rated IP20, for indoor use, and runs on 220–240V.

A licensed electrician hard-wires it to a standard ceiling point in 20–30 minutes. We help on a free video call if needed. Over a table, hang the base 75 to 85 cm above the surface. At a bedside, set it at comfortable reading height.
