Overview
Some lights you notice only when they are on. This fluted glass pendant light gets noticed even when it is off. A 25 cm ribbed barrel of borosilicate glass hangs over your table, and the ribs catch every bit of light in the room.
Switch it on and one warm bulb turns into soft vertical lines of light. You get a quiet glow, not a harsh spot. Choose clear, green or gold-lustre glass, all on a brass-finish holder of 304-grade stainless steel.
What makes fluted borosilicate glass glow like this?
Glass starts as earth. Ours is borosilicate glass, melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina. It is crystal-clear and pure, and it stays that way for life.
The colour goes in while the glass is made. Clear has nothing added. Green has green added. Gold-lustre has a warm gold lustre added, so it reads almost amber when lit.
Then the hands take over. The glass is blown into its rounded barrel with ribs that run from top to bottom. Light hits those ribs and bends. That is why the glow looks like lines of light on your wall, not a single bright dot.
Clear glass gives a clean, neutral glow that suits almost any room. Green casts a cool, botanical tint that looks beautiful against white walls or concrete. Gold-lustre warms everything it touches.
Where does a fluted glass pendant light work best?
It is sized for the places where your day actually happens.
- Kitchen island: hang it 70–75 cm above the counter. Three in a row light a long island evenly.
- Dining table: one covers a 3–4 seater round table. For a long rectangular table, cluster three in a row, 50–60 cm apart.
- Bedside: hang two at the same height on either side of the bed in place of table lamps.
- Living room corner: drop one over a reading chair or a side table for a soft pool of light.

Light and fitting: what you get in the box
The barrel shape keeps the bulb just out of your direct eyeline. You get glow without glare. Drop it lower over a counter for task light, or raise it a little for mood.
The holder and canopy are 304-grade stainless steel in a brass finish. Steel like this will not rust, and we back that with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. The brass-finish holder catches the light and adds warmth even when the bulb is off.
The light hangs on Teflon-coated copper wire. It comes 1.5 m long as standard, and your electrician shortens it to the height you want at installation.
It takes one E27 bulb, up to 60W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 6–8W warm-white LED at 3000K; that is all you need to bring out the lines in the glass. This light is not dimmable. It is rated IP20 for indoor use and runs on 220–240V.

Vastu tradition favours a pendant or a soft light centred over the dining table. It is meant to draw the family to one place and keep the meal warm and unhurried. Warm white light, around 3000K, is the colour it recommends for dining, living and sleeping spaces. This fluted glass pendant light gives exactly that warm 3000K glow with the right bulb.
