Rattan Hat Pendant Light – 70 cm Handwoven Saucer Pendant

Some tables need one wide, calm light over them. This rattan saucer pendant light is that light. A 70 cm hat of real handwoven rattan, honey-coloured, with a cream inner diffuser tucked underneath. It is 20 cm tall, so it reads as a wide brim, not a heavy dome.

Switch it on and the brim glows warm. Light slips through the open weave and throws a soft, dappled pattern across the ceiling and upper walls. The cream diffuser sends a clean, glare-free pool of light down onto your table.

Real rattan, woven by hand

This pendant belongs to the Fibre family. Rattan is a climbing palm. Its long stems are cut, cleaned and split into strands before they reach our bench.

In our Greater Noida factory, a craftsman weaves those strands row by row over the saucer frame, then binds the rim by hand. Small changes in colour and weave stay as they are. We don’t make it uniform.

What does the light do with it? Through the weave, it warms the honey tone and shows every row. Under the brim, it softens into an even glow.

Where does a 70 cm rattan pendant work best?

Over a dining table for 4–6 people. One shade this wide does the job of three smaller pendants. Hang it 75–90 cm above the table, as in our dining-room photo.

Over a kitchen island up to 150 cm wide, hang it 70–75 cm above the counter. Our second photo shows two in a row over a breakfast counter. For a table 200 cm or longer, hang two, 70–80 cm apart. A long 10-seater or a restaurant table can take three.

It also suits an open-plan drawing room, or a bedroom alcove or reading nook, where you want one grounded focal point. The brim keeps the bulb out of your eye line when you sit. It sits well in Japandi, wabi-sabi, coastal, bohemian and natural contemporary rooms.

Light and fitting

One E27 holder. The bulb is not included; fit a 3000K warm-white LED. A 6–9 W warm LED gives the right glow through the brim without running hot, and fills a 12 × 14 ft room with soft, layered light. Max 60 W. It runs on 220–240 V.

The rod and canopy are 304-grade stainless steel in a gold finish that picks up the honey of the rattan. They will not rust, and carry a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.

It is wired with Teflon-coated copper wire and hangs 1.5 m as standard, shortened to your height at installation. It is not dimmable. It is an indoor light, rated IP20.
