Overview
A column of solid alabaster, carved into spheres, discs and cylinders and stacked one on another like a totem. This floor lamp sculpture stands 160 cm (63 in) tall on a round black base 30 cm (11.8 in) across. Every piece is real stone, so it weighs about 55–65 kg.
Switch it on and the whole column glows from inside. The veins in each stone darken against the light, so it looks like a stack of lit clouds.
Alabaster, carved piece by piece
Alabaster is a soft, translucent stone that formed beneath the earth over thousands of years. Light passes through it, which is why it glows instead of simply shining.
Our craftsman carves each shape from its own block: round spheres, flat discs, short cylinders. He reads the veins in every block before he cuts, so the grey and honey lines fall well across each piece. Then he polishes them smooth and stacks them, balancing large and small shapes from the base to the top.
No two lamps are the same. Every stone comes from a different part of the block, so your floor lamp sculpture carries its own pattern from top to bottom.

This floor lamp sculpture gives a warm 3000K light that glows through every stone. It is not dimmable. It plugs into a 220–240V wall socket.
Because it is solid stone, it is heavy: about 55–65 kg. Place it on a firm, level floor. Spare parts, including any single stone, stay available for 10+ years.
