Stacked Alabaster Wall Light – Twin-Drop Aged-Brass Sconce, 20 Inch

The day ends. You switch on the bedside light and the wall turns warm. This stacked alabaster wall light gives you that, without a single hot spot.

Two columns of hand-carved white alabaster discs hang from a U-shaped arm and a round backplate. It stands 20 in (51 cm) tall but sits only 4.25 in (10.8 cm) off the wall. Even switched off, it reads as a small sculpture.

Real alabaster, carved disc by disc

Alabaster is stone formed beneath the earth. It is soft enough to carve and fine enough to let light through.

Our craftsman in Greater Noida reads the block before he cuts. Each disc is shaped, rounded at the edge and drilled through the centre. Then the discs are stacked into two columns.

Switch it on and the stone glows from inside. Every vein shows. The colour shifts where the stone is denser. No two lights are the same, because no two blocks of stone are.

Where a stacked alabaster wall light works best

• Beside your bed: fix a pair either side of the headboard, with the backplate centred 150–160 cm from the floor. At 8.5 in (21.6 cm) wide, the wall between them stays clean.
• In the foyer: one on the first wall you see gives a warm welcome by night and a quiet sculpture by day. Mount it 160–170 cm from the floor.
• In a corridor or hospitality passage: at 4.25 in deep it won’t catch a shoulder in a narrow passage, and the glow gives a plain wall some texture.
• In the living room or lounge: above a sideboard or a reading chair, it gives a soft, glare-free wash.

The stone hides the bulb completely. No filament, no glare, just a warm column of light that is easy on tired eyes. And because it is on the wall, you get your nightstand back: no lamp base, no trailing cord.

It is a mood light, not a reading beam. For close reading, add a task lamp on the nightstand.

Light, fitting and the steel that carries the stone

The backplate, U-arm and caps are 304-grade stainless steel in an aged-brass finish. Steel is the frame here, not the hero. It carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.

There are two light points, one in each column, each taking up to 40 W. The bulb is not included; fit a 3000K warm-white LED in each. It runs on 220–240V.

This light is not dimmable. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms only. Keep it out of bathrooms, covered balconies and any damp spot.

It is hardwired to the wall. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we give free video-call support while they do.
