Black Smoked Glass Pendant Light – Teardrop LED, 3 Sizes and 3-Head Cluster

Some evenings you want the room low and the table glowing. This black smoked glass pendant light does that. A teardrop of smoked borosilicate glass hangs on a slim black wire, and a warm light glows from deep inside it.

Look closely and you see two layers. The outer shade is dark smoked glass. Inside it sits a white diffuser, so you see a soft column of light, never a bare LED. A matte black ball crowns each shade, and a round black canopy holds it to the ceiling.

It comes in three shade shapes: a tall slim teardrop (Ø 12 × H 30 cm), a rounded teardrop (Ø 20 × H 25 cm) and a wide, round-bellied one (Ø 25 × H 22 cm). Hang one alone, or take three together on a round or a linear canopy.

Smoked borosilicate glass, blown by hand

Glass begins as earth. Ours is borosilicate glass, melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina. A smoke colour is added while the glass is made, so the tint runs right through it. It is not a coating that can wear off.

Each shade is blown by hand into its teardrop. A person shapes every curve, so no two shades are perfectly alike. Look for small changes in the tint and the line of the glass. They are the mark of a hand, not a mould.

Switched off, the glass reads dark and quiet. Switch it on and the smoke turns warm grey. The white core glows through, and the curve of the glass catches soft reflections around it.

Where a smoked glass pendant works best

• Over a dining table: three heads on the 60 cm linear canopy cover a table 150 cm or longer from end to end. The round canopy suits a round or square table.
• Kitchen island or counter: a single Ø 20 or Ø 25 cm shade gives focused light where you work, without the glare of a recessed downlight.
• Bedside: the slim Ø 12 cm shade hangs beside a bed in place of a table lamp, freeing the bedside table.
• Open-plan living and drawing rooms: a cluster over a side table or reading corner gives the room a low, warm focal point.

Light, fitting and build

The light comes from a built-in LED in warm white, 3000K. There is no bulb to buy or change. The smoked glass softens it further, so the light falls in a calm, glare-free pool below. It is not dimmable; it gives one fixed warm light.

The integrated LED module carries a 1-year warranty on orders from 4 October 2026.

The canopy, the ball above each shade and the fittings are 304-grade stainless steel in a matte black finish. They will not rust, and they come with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.

Each shade hangs on Teflon-coated copper wire, with a drop of up to 150 cm, set to your height at installation. It runs on 220–240V and is rated IP20, for indoor use. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we help free on a video call.

Hang it 70–75 cm above a kitchen counter, or 75–90 cm above a dining table. It suits rooms of 10 ft × 10 ft and up, with a ceiling of 9 ft or more.
