Alabaster Hanging Light – 30 cm Handcrafted Dome Pendant

Picture dinner on a weeknight. The plates are down, the talk is slow, and one warm circle of light holds the table together. That is what this alabaster hanging light is for.

It is a shallow 30 cm dome of real alabaster, hand-cut from natural stone. It hangs on a black cord from a brass-finish canopy. Switch it on and the whole dome glows, not just the patch under the bulb.

Real alabaster, cut and shaped by hand

Alabaster is stone formed beneath the earth. It is soft, a little see-through, and never the same twice.

Our craftsman reads each block in our Greater Noida factory before he cuts it. He decides where the dome should be thin enough for light to pass, and which vein to leave alone. Then he shapes and polishes it, one careful pass at a time.

That is why no two shades match. The veins run differently. The colour shifts from cream to soft grey. The edges look darker where the stone is denser. One block of stone. One light. Never repeated.

Light it up and the dome glows from inside, with a soft halo around the whole shade. The glow is warm and low in contrast, so it is easy on your eyes for hours. Unlike a bare bulb or cool-white glass, the stone softens the light before it reaches your table.

Where an alabaster hanging light works best

Hang one over a round dining table, 75–90 cm above the top. Run two above a kitchen island or counter at 70–80 cm. The 30 cm width is big enough to anchor a table without crowding the room.

It also suits a living room corner, a single bedside drop, a reading nook, a café counter or the console in your entryway. The calm, warm glow suits a pooja corner too.

Light and fitting

The holder and ceiling canopy are 304-grade stainless steel with a warm brass finish. They will not rust, and you get a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. The hardware stays warm gold throughout, so it sits easily with the cream stone.

The light takes one E26/E27 screw bulb, up to 60W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 6–9W, 3000K warm-white LED to get the honey glow alabaster is known for. It runs on 220–240V.

The light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm 3000K light with the right bulb. It is rated IP20, for indoor rooms.

The cord comes 1.5 m long as standard, and your electrician shortens it to the drop you need. Fitting takes 20–30 minutes, and we help on a free video call.
