Overview
Switch it on and the wall gets a small, warm moon. This globe wall light is a 15 cm ball of opal borosilicate glass resting on a folded brushed-gold base. One G9 lamp inside, and the whole sphere glows evenly, with no bright spot and no glare. Switched off, the gold base still catches the daylight. It is a true sphere wall light: the glass is a full ball, not a half-dome, so it glows all the way round. Gold base, glass ball, nothing extra: it is one of the simplest gold sconce lights we make.
It is a quiet piece. It does not shout. It gives a bedside, a living room wall or a corridor one soft point of light and leaves the rest of the room alone.
What is a globe wall light?
A globe wall light is a round glass shade on a wall bracket. Ours is a 15 cm blown opal borosilicate glass ball sitting in a 304-grade stainless steel base finished in brushed gold. The glass is white right through, so light spreads out from every side of the sphere instead of leaking from one edge. The whole piece is 15.3 cm wide.
Opal borosilicate glass and brushed steel: what the hands do
Glass comes from the earth too. Opal borosilicate glass is melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, with white added while the glass is made. Then it is blown into a sphere. The white is in the glass itself, not a coating, which is why the glow is so even from every side.
The base is one sheet of 304-grade stainless steel. Our craftsman in Greater Noida folds it into a neat wedge, cuts the curve the globe rests in, and brushes the surface until the gold reads soft rather than shiny. The globe sits in that curve with no visible screw from the front.
Light does the rest. The sphere glows from inside and throws a gentle halo on the wall behind it. Because the steel is 304 grade, the base carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.
Where a globe wall light works
Beside the bed is the classic spot. Mount one on each side of the headboard at 140–150 cm from the floor and you free the bedside table of lamps and cables. Two of them give enough light for reading and a calm glow for the rest of the evening. See more ideas in our bedroom wall lights collection.
In a living room, hang it in an alcove or on a feature wall at 180–200 cm. In a hallway or entryway, a row of them lights the corridor evenly and gives a long wall a rhythm. It also sits well above a console in a hotel-style lobby, on an office accent wall, or beside a bathroom mirror, kept outside the splash zone because the rating is IP20.

Light and fitting
The fitting is a G9 holder, rated to a maximum of 25 W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white G9 LED; most people choose 3–4 W and find it plenty for reading and mood together. This light is not dimmable.
It runs on 220–240 V, 50 Hz, and is earthed. The backplate has two keyhole slots, so it fixes to a standard single-gang back box flush to the wall. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we give free video-call support while they do. The base and backplate are 304-grade stainless steel, through and through.

Vastu
Vastu tradition asks for soft, warm light in the bedroom and the living room, and for no harsh light directly above the bed. A wall light at bedside height, glowing through opal borosilicate glass, is exactly what that guidance describes. A 3000K warm-white bulb keeps the tone restful.
Direction matters in the tradition too. Decorative wall lights are said to suit east- and north-facing walls, and warm light in the south-west corner of a bedroom is held to be calming. In a living room, Vastu writers recommend keeping the north-east bright and lighting the dark corners, which is where a small globe like this earns its place. Entrances and hallways should be well lit, never dim.
Two more points the texts agree on: no flickering lights, and natural, grounding materials. Glass made from sand and steel from the earth fit that idea. This is a tradition of arranging a home so it feels right, not a promise of luck.
