Wood Wall Light – Reeded Matt-Gold Dome, Opal Borosilicate Glass Ball, 16 cm

Some lights you notice only when they are on. This one you notice all day. It is a wood wall light. A hand-reeded dome in matt gold holds a soft opal borosilicate glass ball, on a slim round base. It is 15.7 cm across and sits 14.3 cm off the wall.

Switch it on and the ball glows as one warm, even orb. The ridged dome catches that glow and throws a quiet halo back onto the wall. Switch it off and it still reads as a small sculpture: a golden shell cradling a white sphere.

What is this wood wall light made of?

The dome is real wood. Wood grows for years before it reaches our bench, and no two pieces come out the same.

In our Greater Noida factory, a craftsman ridges the dome by hand, one ring at a time. Then it is finished in matt gold. The wood keeps its texture under the finish, so you can see and feel every ridge. Look closely and the surface is never perfectly even. That is the hand, and the material, showing through.

The ball is opal borosilicate glass. Borosilicate is melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, and white is added while the glass is made. Light passes through it soft and even, with no bright spot.

The round wall base is 304-grade stainless steel in a brushed gold finish. It will not rust, and it carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.

Where does a small wood wall light work best?

• Beside the bed. Mount it 120–140 cm from the floor. The opal ball gives a soft glow for reading, and a pair frames a headboard.
• In the living room. Hang one beside a console, shelf or artwork at 150–160 cm, or a pair either side of a mirror.
• In a hallway or entry. At 14.3 cm deep it sits close to the wall and clears a passing shoulder. A warm orb welcomes you in.
• In hotels and guest rooms. A run of matching globes down a corridor or beside reception adds warmth and rhythm.

It suits warm-white walls, timber, marble, plaster, limewash and earthy linen. It sits well in mid-century, modern and transitional rooms. Skip cool-white, blue-toned schemes and high-gloss industrial kitchens, where the warm gold fights the room.

Light and fitting

It takes one G9 bulb. The bulb is not included; fit a 3000K warm-white G9 LED. The opal glass hides the bulb completely, so the light is glare-free and easy on your eyes late in the evening.

This light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm 3000K light with the recommended bulb. It runs on 220–240V and is rated IP20, for indoor dry rooms only.

It is a hardwired wall mount. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we give free video-call support if you need it.
