Frequently asked

Buying wall lights, answered.

What styles of wall lights does Jagmag offer?
The collection covers four broad styles: sculptural sconces in alabaster, ceramic and opal borosilicate glass; slim LED bars in matte black or brushed brass for bathrooms and corridors; decorative period lights in opal borosilicate glass, gold-frame oriels and twisted glass torches; and statement architectural wall lights for double-height rooms and hospitality interiors.
Are these wall lights suitable for bathrooms?
Only the IP65 ones. Our outdoor wall lights and our alabaster wall lights with a built-in LED are IP65, so they can take bathroom humidity; keep them out of the direct splash zone. Our other indoor wall lights are IP20 and belong in dry rooms.
How do I choose the right size of wall light?
Match the wall light to the wall it sits on, not the room. A long corridor wall or a tall bedroom feature wall can carry a 60–90 cm bar or a sculptural sconce; a narrow vanity, bedside or stair-landing wall is usually better with a slim or compact fitting.
Can I commission a custom wall light?
Yes. Jagmag Lights designs and hand-makes wall lights in India and can adapt scale, finish, glass type, or mount style for a specific project. Use the Custom-Made Lights enquiry to share your space and intent.
Why do designer interiors layer multiple wall lights?
Layering wall lights softens shadows and gives a room more than one source of intentional light. A bedside sconce + a corridor LED + a feature wall sconce reads as a designed scheme, not a single ceiling light fighting the whole room.
Which hall wall light design works best?
For a hall or living room, use a pair of up-and-down sconces on either side of the TV wall or a sofa, hung about 165 to 180 cm from the floor, so light washes the wall instead of glaring into your eyes. Warm 3000K light keeps the hall calm in the evening.
Which modern wall lights and sconces suit an Indian home?
Pick the wall lamp design by the room. A hall or living room suits up-and-down sconces that wash the wall; a bedroom suits a soft alabaster or opal borosilicate glass sconce at eye level; a corridor suits slim lights spaced every 2 to 2.5 m. All our modern wall lights are made in our own Greater Noida factory on 304 stainless steel, with 3000K warm light.
Where can I buy designer wall lights in India?
From the people who make them. Our designer wall lights are designed and made in our own Greater Noida factory since 2015: alabaster, ceramic, marble, and fluted or opal borosilicate glass, on 304 stainless steel in gold, black or chrome finishes. Free shipping across India, and spares for 10+ years.
What is the difference between wall lights and sconces?
A wall light is any light fixed to a wall. A sconce is a wall light that holds its bulb or LED on a bracket or behind a shade, so the glow spreads up, down or both ways along the wall. Every sconce is a wall light. Our range has both, in alabaster, opal borosilicate glass, marble and ceramic, on 304 stainless steel, with warm 3000K light.
