Travertine Half-Moon Wall Light – Uplight Sconce, 20 cm | Jagmag Lights

A half-moon of natural travertine that washes the wall with warm light. This wall sconce is a rounded half-bowl of natural travertine stone, 20 cm wide and 13 cm tall. An E27 bulb sits inside the open top, so light fans up across the wall above in a soft arc while the stone face stays calm and textured. Where the stone is thinnest, tiny points of light glow through its natural pits. It can also be fitted the other way up to throw the light downward.

Where it fits

• Bedrooms — above a bedside table or either side of a headboard for glare-free evening light.
• Hallways & entrances — a pair flanking artwork or a mirror above a console.
• Living rooms — a warm wash of light on a plaster or limewash wall beside an armchair.
• Japandi, wabi-sabi and warm-minimal interiors — plaster, limewash, oak, linen and stone.

Why you’ll love it

The light goes onto the wall, not into your eyes, so it is soft and calming. Travertine is a real stone full of natural pits and bands, so each sconce is unique — and in places the light glows through it like embers. It takes a standard E27 bulb, so you can pick the warmth and brightness you want and change it easily. Mounted upward it is an uplight; turned over, it becomes a downlight for a console or bedside.

Light & material

The shade is a natural travertine half-bowl in a warm cream-beige. A single E27 bulb sits inside the open top. With a warm white E27 LED (2700–3000K) you get a broad, soft arc of light on the wall — accent and ambient light rather than main room light.
