Overview
One globe broke. The rest of your chandelier is fine. This alabaster ball is how you make it whole again.
It is a 15 cm (6 inch) round shade of real alabaster stone, hollowed and polished by hand. A round opening lets it sit over the holder collar of a chandelier, jhumar, wall bracket or lamp arm. It is a spare part, not a complete light. See all our chandelier spare parts.
Real alabaster stone, not alabaster glass
Alabaster is stone formed beneath the earth. Some sellers use the same word for a white glass. Ours is the stone itself, with veins you can see and feel.
Our craftsman looks at the block before he cuts it. He shapes the ball, hollows it, and polishes the outside to a soft shine. He leaves the veins exactly where nature put them.
So no two balls match. One carries a grey-brown band across its middle. Another has fine lines running top to bottom. That is the stone’s character, not a flaw. Not sure how to tell real stone from a copy? Read our guide to faux alabaster vs real alabaster.
What the light does with alabaster
Switched off, it is a quiet cream ball with faint earthy veins. Switched on, the stone glows from inside.
The veins turn darker against the glow. The light comes out soft and even, with no hard ring from the bulb.
The cream stone sits well with brass, antique bronze, antique gold, chrome and polished-nickel finishes on chandelier arms. It suits classic, art deco, transitional, eclectic and traditional Indian interiors. It is not made for fittings that need a flat shade.
Will this alabaster ball fit my chandelier?
Use it wherever a 15 cm round shade is needed:

Is this a complete light or just the shade?
Just the shade. It is a spare alabaster ball with no wiring, bulb holder or bulb, and it fits over the holder collar of your existing fitting.
Is it real alabaster or alabaster glass?
It is real alabaster stone. Each ball is shaped and polished by hand from natural stone, which is why the veins are different on every piece.
What size is the alabaster ball?
It is 15 cm (6 inch) across. Measure your old shade and your fitting’s collar before you order, or send us a photo and we will check it.
Will the veins match if I order more than one?
Not exactly, because every ball is natural stone. Tell us before you order a set and we will pick balls that are close in colour.

How do I clean an alabaster ball?
Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth while the light is off. Alabaster is a soft natural stone, so keep water and cleaning sprays away from it.
