Overview
Switch it on and your wall glows in two directions at once. Light runs up and down a column of clear rods, and the wall behind turns warm gold. This is the Dania art deco wall light: 60 cm of 1930s glamour, made for an Indian home.
It is a two-light sconce. A half-round band, 12 cm wide, holds a stack of crystal-clear glass rods in staggered lengths. A few slim gold-finish steel rods run between them. One E14 holder faces up, one faces down. The whole light sits just 6 cm off the wall, so it fits a narrow hallway.
Crystal-clear borosilicate glass, cut and polished rod by rod
The rods are borosilicate glass. It is melted from natural raw ingredients: silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina. Nothing is added, so it stays crystal-clear.
Our craftsman cuts each rod to length and polishes its ends. Then he sets them by hand, short to long, so the column tapers at the top and the bottom. Light passes clean through the glass and catches on every polished end. Each rod draws its own thin line of light down the wall.
The band and the slim rods are 304-grade stainless steel in a gold (brass) finish. Steel is the frame here, not the hero. It carries the glass and it will not rust. You get a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.
Where to hang it: hallway, bedroom, living room
In a hallway, fix it at about 180 cm. It becomes the first thing guests notice. The gold band still catches the light by day, when the lamp is off.
In a bedroom, hang a pair either side of the headboard. You free up the bedside table and still get warm light where you need it.
On a living room feature wall or above a mantle, it pulls the eye upward and makes the room feel closer. It also suits a dining corner, as in our photos, and a staircase wall, where its tall shape follows the climb.

Light and fitting
Two E14 holders take up to 25W each. Bulbs are not included. Fit two 3000K warm-white LED bulbs. An 8–12W E14 LED gives a warm, even glow and uses little power.
The glass rods spread the light into a soft wash on the wall, with fine vertical lines of shadow between the rods. The gold finish shifts from gold to amber as you walk past. This light is not dimmable.
It runs on 220–240V and is rated IP20, for indoor use. It fixes straight to the wall on a rectangular backplate hidden behind the band, so you see no raw edges or fixings from the front.

Vastu
Vastu tradition sees the entrance and hallway as the path energy takes into a home. It asks for that path to be well lit, with no dark corners and no flickering bulbs. A tall sconce that lights the wall top and bottom does this simply.

FAQ
What bulb does this art deco wall light use?
It takes two E14 bulbs, up to 25W each, and the bulbs are not included. Fit 3000K warm-white E14 LEDs of 8–12W for the warmest light and the lowest power use.
Is this art deco wall light dimmable?
No. This light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm 3000K light.
Are the rods real crystal or glass?
They are real borosilicate glass, crystal-clear and cut and polished by hand. The glass is melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, with nothing added, so it stays clear.
Will the gold frame rust?
No. The band, rods and backplate are 304-grade stainless steel, with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. The warranty covers rusting of the steel, not the finish or the electrics.
How high should I mount it, and who fits it?
Fix it 180–200 cm from the floor in a hallway or living room, or 140–150 cm (30–40 cm above the mattress) beside a bed. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we give free video-call support while they do.
