Scalloped Fabric Pendant Light – Ivory Petals, Black Trim and Wood Finial, 50 cm

Some lights brighten a room. This one softens it. The scalloped fabric pendant light turns a bare bulb into a warm, glare-free glow that you can look straight at from your pillow.

Eight ivory fabric panels, cut in scallops and layered in two tiers, open like petals under a turned dark wood finial. Every edge is bound in black trim, so the outline stays crisp even when the light is on. It is 50 cm across and 30 cm tall: big enough to be the main light in a bedroom or over a table for four.

Fabric, wood and steel, shaped by hand

Fabric belongs to our fibre family. Light does not bounce off it. It passes through the weave.

Look closely and you see a fine slub weave in the ivory cloth. Our craftsman stretches each panel over a scalloped 304-grade stainless steel frame, then binds every curve in black trim by hand. The finial and ball on top are turned from dark wood on a lathe, so the grain catches the light at the top of the shade.

Switch it on and the whole shade glows ivory. The black scallops read as a clean graphic line, and warm light spills down onto the table or bed below. Switched off, it is a calm sculptural shape on a black cord.

Where does a scalloped fabric pendant light work best?

Light, fitting and the steel inside

It takes one standard E27 bulb, up to 60 W. The bulb is not included; fit a 3000K warm-white LED for the softest glow through the cloth. It is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm light.

The frame and the round ceiling canopy are 304-grade stainless steel, finished matte black. They carry a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. It runs on 220–240V and is rated IP20 for indoor use.

It hangs on a 1.5 m black cord, shortened at installation. Over a dining table, hang the base 75 to 85 cm above the top. As a room centre light, keep at least 7 ft of clear headroom below it. It suits rooms from 9 ft × 9 ft and ceilings of 8 ft and above; allow 50 cm of clear width for the shade.
