Wood Dome Pendant Light – Matte Black Shade & Opal Globe, 30 cm

Some lights fill a room. This one sits over your table and makes it the place everyone gathers. This dome pendant light is a 30 cm matte black shade with a teak collar on top and an opal borosilicate glass globe peeking out below. The globe softens the bulb into a wide, glare-free pool of light. No squinting. No harsh hot spot.

At 30 cm across and 27 cm tall, it is big enough to anchor a dining nook. It is still small enough for a compact room.

Wood, steel and opal glass, shaped by hand

Teak is wood that grows for years before it reaches our bench. Our craftsmen turn the collar, sand it and leave the grain to show. It breaks the all-black outline just enough, so the light reads warm, not industrial.

The dome is 304-grade stainless steel in a matte black finish, with a white inside that bounces light down. It carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.

The globe is opal borosilicate glass. It starts as clear glass melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, with white added while it is made. Switch it on and the glass glows soft and even, while the dome sends the light down onto your table.

Where does a dome pendant light work best?

Over a round breakfast table for two. Over a kitchen island. As a pair on either side of a queen or king bed. Or as a row of three over a long dining table.

It suits rooms from 8 ft × 10 ft upwards, with a ceiling of 9 ft or more. It sits well in modern minimalist, Japandi, wabi-sabi, contemporary and mid-century rooms. Pair it with natural wood dining tables, marble kitchen counters, linen chairs or dark-stained furniture. Skip very ornate classical rooms and ceilings under 8 ft.

Light and fitting

The light takes one E14 bulb, up to 40W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 4–6W, 3000K warm-white LED for a creamy glow that is soft enough for a bedside and focused enough for a counter.

It hangs on Teflon-coated copper wire, 1.5 m as standard. Your electrician shortens it at installation to the drop you want. The canopy, dome and fittings are matte black 304-grade stainless steel. The light runs on 220–240V, is rated IP20 for indoor use, and is not dimmable.
