Linen Cloth Pendant Light – Wavy Dome with Wood Cap, 35 cm

Some evenings you want the table lit, not the whole room. This linen cloth pendant light does exactly that. A 35 cm dome of natural linen hangs over your table, with a soft wave running round its hem.

The hem doesn’t sit flat. It dips low on one side and lifts on the other, like a leaf turning in the wind, and a twisted cord is stitched along the edge. A turned wood cap sits on top. A round wood canopy holds it to the ceiling. Slim matte black ribs inside give the cloth its shape.

Real linen, stretched and stitched by hand

Linen comes from the flax plant. It belongs to the fibre family: spun, woven, and full of the fine slub you can see in the close-up photo. No print can copy that weave.

Our craftsman cuts the linen to the curve of the frame and stretches it over the ribs, panel by panel. He stitches each rib line, then works the twisted cord along the wavy hem, one stitch at a time, so the wave falls evenly all round. The wood cap is turned on a lathe and left with its own grain.

Switch it on and the beige cloth turns a warm cream. The rib lines show as soft stripes through the linen. Under the hem, light falls in a gentle pool on your table.

Where a linen pendant light works best

• Over a dining table: one 35 cm shade suits a single dining spot or a compact table. Two suit a 4-seater. Three in a row, 40–50 cm apart, cover a table 150 cm or longer.
• Kitchen island or counter: the light is diffused, not directed, so you can prep, cook and talk without squinting.
• Bedside or reading nook: the linen hides the bulb, so the light stays soft on your eyes.

It suits Japandi, Scandinavian, wabi-sabi, modern minimalist and coastal rooms. It looks right with natural wood tables, linen seating, rattan accents, brass hardware and white or warm-grey walls. Light, fitting and build

Linen spreads light across the whole dome, so you get a glow, not a hot spot. No glare and no harsh shadows on the table.

It takes one E27 bulb, up to 60 W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white LED; 6–8 W is the right fit and keeps the linen cool. The light is not dimmable.

The frame ribs and metal fittings are 304-grade stainless steel in a matte black finish. They will not rust, and they come with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. The cap and the ceiling canopy are natural wood.

The pendant hangs on 1.5 m of black Teflon-coated copper wire as standard, shortened to your drop at installation. It runs on 220–240V and is rated IP20, for indoor use. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we help free on a video call.

Hang it 70–75 cm above a kitchen counter, or 75–90 cm above a dining table. It suits rooms of 10 ft × 10 ft and up, with a ceiling of 9 ft or more.
