Overview
Switch it on and the room gets quieter. This japanese pendant light spreads 60 cm of cream linen across your ceiling, with a band of hand-wound hemp rope at its waist and a softly glowing linen tier below. The light comes out warm and wide, never as a hard point. At 38 cm tall, it anchors a dining table without blocking anyone’s view.
A japanese hanging light in three tiers
Look at it from the side and you see three layers. A wide, flat linen brim on top. A deep band of natural tan hemp rope in the middle. A tapered linen drum underneath that hides the bulb.
It is the Japandi idea in one shade: plain natural materials, calm shapes, nothing extra.
Linen and hemp, shaped by hand
Linen and hemp both belong to the fibre family. Linen is woven from flax. Hemp rope is twisted from the long fibres of the hemp plant.
Our team stretches the linen over the frame and stitches it tight. Then the hemp rope is wound around the middle by hand, one turn beside the next. Look closely and you can see each strand. No two bands come out exactly the same.
Switch it on and the linen glows a soft cream. The rope stays darker, a warm tan ring that shows its texture against the light.
Where it fits
It was made for the dining table. Hang it 75–90 cm above the surface, centred, and it becomes the heart of the room. At 60 cm wide, one shade covers a six-seater on its own.
It also works over a large coffee table in a drawing room or living room, or as a single statement piece in a high-ceilinged entrance hall. Over a table of 180 cm or longer, hang two in a row, 60–70 cm apart.

Light and fitting
It takes one E27 bulb (E26 fits too), up to 60W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 6–9W 3000K warm-white LED. It runs cool, so the linen stays safe and lasts longer.
The light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm glow.
It hangs on 1.5 m of black Teflon-coated copper wire, shortened at installation to suit your ceiling. The frame and round ceiling canopy are 304-grade stainless steel in a matte black finish. They will not rust, and you get a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. It runs on 220–240V and is rated IP20, for indoor rooms.

Vastu tradition places the dining area in the west or north-west of the home. It asks for plenty of daylight by day and soft, warm light in the evening. Warm, calm tones like cream, beige and yellow are preferred over dark, dull ones.
This light follows that thinking. Linen and hemp are natural fibres, and their cream and tan tones are the soft colours Vastu favours. A 3000K warm-white bulb gives the gentle evening light it describes. Hang it centred over the table, high enough that nobody looks straight into the bulb.
