Overview
Some lights brighten a room. This one softens it. The scalloped fabric pendant light turns a bare bulb into a warm, glare-free glow that you can look straight at from your pillow.
Eight ivory fabric panels, cut in scallops and layered in two tiers, open like petals under a turned dark wood finial. Every edge is bound in black trim, so the outline stays crisp even when the light is on. It is 50 cm across and 30 cm tall: big enough to be the main light in a bedroom or over a table for four.
Fabric, wood and steel, shaped by hand
Fabric belongs to our fibre family. Light does not bounce off it. It passes through the weave.
Look closely and you see a fine slub weave in the ivory cloth. Our craftsman stretches each panel over a scalloped 304-grade stainless steel frame, then binds every curve in black trim by hand. The finial and ball on top are turned from dark wood on a lathe, so the grain catches the light at the top of the shade.
Switch it on and the whole shade glows ivory. The black scallops read as a clean graphic line, and warm light spills down onto the table or bed below. Switched off, it is a calm sculptural shape on a black cord.
Where does a scalloped fabric pendant light work best?
- Over a dining table: the 50 cm spread covers a round table for four and puts warm, even light on the food. See our dining room pendant lights.
- As a bedroom centre light: the fabric hides the bulb completely, so there is no hard glare when you lie down and look up. More in bedroom pendant lights.
- In a living room or reading corner: a soft, decorative shape above a sofa that never feels heavy. Browse living room pendant lights.
- Over a study desk: the wide shade throws light down across the work surface, not into your eyes.
It suits cottage, vintage, Scandinavian, warm minimalist and transitional rooms. It looks best with light oak and cane furniture, linen, and black window frames and hardware. Skip it in high-gloss chrome or heavily industrial rooms. Planning the whole room? Our guide to bedroom lighting ideas shows how to layer it.
Light, fitting and the steel inside
It takes one standard E27 bulb, up to 60 W. The bulb is not included; fit a 3000K warm-white LED for the softest glow through the cloth. It is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm light.
The frame and the round ceiling canopy are 304-grade stainless steel, finished matte black. They carry a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. It runs on 220–240V and is rated IP20 for indoor use.
It hangs on a 1.5 m black cord, shortened at installation. Over a dining table, hang the base 75 to 85 cm above the top. As a room centre light, keep at least 7 ft of clear headroom below it. It suits rooms from 9 ft × 9 ft and ceilings of 8 ft and above; allow 50 cm of clear width for the shade.

Free 15-min designer consult →Vastu
Vastu tradition asks for soft, warm light in the evening, especially in the bedroom and around the dining table. It prefers shaded light over a harsh, bare bulb, and it advises against a strong light glaring straight down at the bed. A fabric shade with a 3000K warm-white LED gives exactly that kind of even, diffused glow.
For the dining room, Vastu favours warm, soothing colours such as beige and cream, and natural materials such as wood, which it links with growth and harmony. This pendant brings an ivory fabric shade and a turned wood finial over the table. Many families also like to keep lights on the east or north side of a room and to leave no corner dark, so add a wall or table lamp where the pendant does not reach.
Vastu is a tradition of arranging a home so it feels right. We don’t promise luck, only a calmer room.

·Check mounting hardware periodically and tighten if needed.
FAQ
What is this scalloped fabric pendant light made of?
The shade is ivory fabric with a fine slub weave, bound in black trim. It sits on a 304-grade stainless steel frame, with a turned dark wood finial and a black cord.
Is it big enough for my room?
Yes, for most bedrooms and dining tables for four. It is 50 cm across and 30 cm tall, and suits rooms from 9 ft × 9 ft with ceilings of 8 ft or more.
What bulb does it take, and is one included?
It takes one E27 bulb up to 60 W, which is not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white LED for the softest glow.
Is it dimmable?
No. This light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm 3000K light.
Why does a fabric shade feel softer than glass?
The fabric spreads the light evenly across the whole shade. That removes hot spots and glare, which is why it suits bedrooms and dining tables where you look up at the light.
How high should I hang it?
Over a dining table, hang the base 75 to 85 cm above the top. As a room centre light, keep at least 7 ft of clear headroom below it.
Will the metal rust, and how do I install it?
No. The frame and canopy are 304-grade stainless steel with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we help free on a video call.
How fast will it reach me?
In stock, it is dispatched within 4 working days. Made to order takes 12–15 working days, and a custom size or colour takes 15–20 days. Shipping is free across India.

How do I clean it?
Dust the shade with a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush once a month. Do not use water or liquids on the fabric.
