Overview
The gold temple cap is a 45 mm domed cover in gold-finish metal, made to sit at the top of a chandelier, jhumar, hanging light or wall light. It slips over the threaded rod or pipe through its central hole, hiding the nut, joint and wiring entry so the fixture top looks finished and complete. Handcrafted in India at our Greater Noida workshop.
Where it fits
- Chandeliers and jhumars: covers the rod entry at the top of a multi-arm chandelier or a traditional jhumar, giving the ceiling rose or canopy a clean, finished appearance.
- Hanging pendant lights: hides the cord or pipe attachment point at the crown of the fitting, removing exposed hardware that makes a pendant look unfinished.
- Wall lights: fits over the bracket rod where it enters the body, covering the raw joint that is otherwise visible on a close-fit sconce.
- DIY and restoration builds: the finishing touch when assembling a custom chandelier from parts, or replacing a missing cap on an older fixture — browse the full metal components range.
Why you’ll use it every day
A bare rod-top is a fixture you never quite finished. The cap itself is invisible when the light is on — the eye goes to the glow, not the hardware — but without it, every time a guest glances up they see a nut and a gap. Fitting the cap takes a minute and turns the same fixture into something that looks factory-finished. For anyone building a custom chandelier over a weekend, it is the piece that separates “assembled” from “done”.
Light & finish
Unlit, the gold metal surface catches ambient room light with a warm, mid-tone lustre — not mirror-bright, not flat matte. In direct daylight near a window, the dome picks up a clean highlight without appearing brash. It pairs well with gold, antique brass and champagne-finish frames. Avoid pairing with chrome or brushed nickel, where the warmth of gold will look out of place.

In Vaastu, a gold finish is associated with the metal element and warmth, and gold-toned details at the crown of a fixture are traditionally considered auspicious in living and puja spaces. The smooth, rounded dome carries no sharp angles — a form commonly preferred in Vaastu for keeping energy flowing rather than interrupting it.
Care
·Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
·Spot-clean with a pH-neutral cleaner on a cloth — never spray directly.
·Wipe the stainless steel gently dry after cleaning. Avoid abrasives and harsh chemicals.
·Indoor use only unless an IP rating is specified.
·Switch off the circuit before any electrical maintenance.
·Check mounting hardware periodically and tighten if needed.
FAQ
What is the diameter of this temple cap?
The cap is 45 mm (1.77 inches) in diameter. Measure the opening at the top of your fitting before ordering to confirm the fit.
What material is it made from?
It is made from gold-finish metal, handcrafted in India. The gold surface maintains its finish under normal indoor conditions.
What is a temple cap used for?
A temple cap covers the threaded rod, nut and wiring entry at the top of a chandelier, jhumar, hanging light or wall light, so the fixture looks neat and complete from below.
Is it sold as a single piece or in a set?
It is sold individually — one cap per order. Add the quantity you need at checkout.
Will it fit the rod on my chandelier?
The central hole is sized for a standard M10 threaded rod or decorative pipe. If your rod is non-standard, send us a photo with measurements and we will confirm before you order.
Can I use this with a wall light or sconce?
Yes. The cap works wherever a rod or pipe enters a fitting body — chandeliers, jhumars, hanging lights and wall lights. It sits flush against the fitting or ceiling rose and is invisible once the light is installed.
