Ribbed Glass Ball Pendant Light – Smoked Borosilicate Glass, 20 cm

Switch it on and the ribbed glass ball pendant light throws soft lines of warm light up your wall. A 20 cm globe of light smoked borosilicate glass, ribbed from top to bottom, hangs on a black cable from a brushed gold canopy. It is the kind of light that makes a small table feel like the best seat in the house.

The smoke tint is light. You still see the bulb glowing inside, but the glass takes the edge off it. Each rib bends the light a little, so the wall behind gets a fan of fine stripes instead of one flat pool.

Why ribbed borosilicate glass?

Borosilicate glass starts as natural raw ingredients: silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina. They are melted together, and the smoke colour is added while the glass is made, not painted on later. So the tint never wears or peels.

The globe is shaped with deep vertical ribs all the way round. Our team then fits it by hand to a holder cup and canopy of 304-grade stainless steel in a brushed gold finish. Light passes clean through the glass and the ribs break it into gentle lines. In a dark room, those lines are the whole show.

Where does a ribbed glass ball pendant light work best?

Over a round dining table for two to four, hung 75–90 cm above the top. Above a kitchen island counter at 70–75 cm. In a bedroom reading corner, at the entrance of a café or in a boutique showroom, where one globe gives the eye somewhere to land.

Light, fitting and the steel that will not rust

It takes one standard E27 bulb, up to 40W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white LED; 5–8W is plenty. Warm white brings out the ribs and keeps faces and food looking good at dinner. This light is not dimmable.

The canopy is 10 cm wide and 2.5 cm deep. The cable gives up to 100 cm between canopy and globe, so the whole light drops a maximum of 122 cm. Your electrician shortens the cable to the height you want at fitting. That suits ceilings from about 8 to 12 ft.

Every metal part is 304-grade stainless steel with a brushed gold finish. It will not rust, with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. It is rated IP20, for indoor rooms.
