Overview
A tall wooden pyramid that narrows as it rises, with a white linen drum shade resting near the top. This drum shade floor lamp stands 162 cm (63.8 in) tall on a 25 cm (9.8 in) base. The tip of the stand passes right through the shade and peeks out above it, like a pencil through a ring.
Switch it on and the linen glows soft and even. Light falls down the length of the wood and spreads in a warm pool on the floor.
Wood and linen, shaped by hand
The stand is solid wood, cut into four long tapering faces and finished in a deep brown stain. Run your hand along it and you can feel the grain under the finish. Its shape comes from the obelisk, the tall four-sided stone pillar that narrows to a point.
The shade is a wide drum, 45 cm across and 20 cm deep, wrapped in white linen. Linen has a soft weave that lets light through gently, so the glow never feels sharp.
Our craftsman sets the drum off-centre on the stand. That small tilt in balance is what makes this drum shade floor lamp look like a piece of sculpture, not just a light.
