Know your light

This stacked alabaster pendant light builds a 27.5 cm column out of hand-cut alabaster rings, capped in antique brass. Lit, the stone glows and the gaps between the rings throw fine bands of light down the wall or counter below. It is 8.5 cm across, so it suits being hung in a row.

Where it fits

A stacked alabaster pendant light is small on purpose. It works in groups.

  • Over a kitchen island: Hang three at 60-70 cm apart. The slim 8.5 cm profile keeps sightlines open across the counter.
  • Above a breakfast bar: One per seat is the usual spacing, centred over each stool.
  • Beside a bed: A single one dropped low replaces a bedside lamp and frees the nightstand.
  • Stairwells and entry halls: Hang two or three at staggered heights for a vertical run of light.

Why you will use it every day

The ridges are not decoration. They are what the light does.

Because the stacked alabaster pendant light is built from separate rings rather than one turned cylinder, each joint catches light differently. You get a banded glow rather than a flat one, and the stone reads as layered even from across a room.

Hand-cut from natural alabaster — which means no two are alike. The veins run differently. The colour shifts. The edges darken where the stone is denser. Light it up and you get a glow that belongs to your piece and nothing else. One block of stone. One light. Never repeated.

The suspension is the practical part. It ships with rods in five lengths — 30, 30, 30, 20 and 10 cm — so you can build a drop anywhere up to 120 cm and get it right for your ceiling instead of coiling up excess cable.

The LED is built in at 3000K, so there is no bulb to buy or match. That matters when you are hanging three in a row: nothing to mismatch now, and nothing to hunt for later. We build it in our Greater Noida factory and hold spare parts for 10+ years.

Light & finish

Switched on, the alabaster glows from within and the ridges show as soft horizontal bands. Nothing dazzles — the stone is dense enough to hide the LED completely.

Most of the light falls downward onto the counter or table, with a warm halo around the column itself. Hung in a row, the effect is rhythmic: three small warm columns rather than one large bright object.

Unlit, it reads as a small piece of carved stone on a brass cap. The pale honey alabaster and warm brass suit wood, plaster and stone surfaces, and the narrow profile keeps it from crowding a compact kitchen.

Vaastu & positive energy

Natural stone and warm light are the combination Vaastu tends to favour over a table or counter.

Alabaster is a mineral drawn from the earth, so a stacked alabaster pendant light brings a grounding material into a room where a metal or glass fitting would feel colder. The 3000K tone is warm rather than clinical, which suits eating and gathering.

The form is a rounded column with no sharp corners, and hanging several in an even row rather than one heavy fixture is generally read as balanced rather than dominating.

Common questions

How many should I hang over a kitchen island?

Three for a 180-240 cm island, spaced 60-70 cm apart, with the first and last about 30 cm in from each end. Two suits a shorter run and four a very long one. Each stacked alabaster pendant light is bought individually.

How low should it hang?

75-90 cm from the counter to the bottom of the stone. The rods come in 30, 30, 30, 20 and 10 cm lengths, so you can build almost any drop up to 120 cm without cutting anything.

Does the stacked alabaster pendant light need a bulb?

No. The LED is integrated at 3000K warm white. There is nothing to buy, and nothing to mismatch if you hang several together.

Will they all look the same if I order three?

No, and that is the appeal. Each column is cut from natural stone, so veining and tone differ between pieces. Hung in a row they read as a set, not as copies.

Is it too small on its own?

At 27.5 cm tall and 8.5 cm across it is a small fixture, so a single one suits a bedside, a corner or a narrow hallway. Over an island or a long table, hang two or three.

Can I get the stacked alabaster pendant light in a different size or finish?

Yes. We manufacture in-house, so column height, diameter and metal finish can all change. Custom runs take 15-20 days against 60-120 days for an imported equivalent.

How do I clean it?

Dry microfibre cloth, working along the ridges where dust collects. For marks use a barely damp cloth and dry it straight after — never anything acidic on natural stone. Planning a row over an island? Send us the island length and we will tell you how many and at what spacing.
