Overview
Some lamps you notice only when they are on. This alabaster table lamp is worth looking at even when it is off. A dome of real alabaster, carved and polished by hand, sits on a slim cone with a brushed brass finish. Switch it on and the stone glows warm from inside.
It stands 55 cm tall with a 35 cm dome. That is big enough to anchor a bedside table or a console, and calm enough to never shout.
A dome carved from stone formed beneath the earth
Alabaster is a soft, translucent natural stone. It belongs to the same stone family as marble and onyx, but it lets light pass through it.
Every alabaster table lamp starts as a block of stone. Our craftsman reads it before he cuts. Where do the veins run? Which side should face the room? Then he carves the dome, thins the walls so the light can come through, and polishes the outside by hand.
Unlit, the dome is a creamy white with soft grey and amber veins. Lit, the stone turns luminous. It is brighter where the stone is thinner and warmer where it is thicker, so the glow feels alive, not flat.
No two domes are the same. The veins run differently, the colour shifts, and the edges darken where the stone is denser. One block of stone. One light. Never repeated.
Where this alabaster table lamp works best

Light falls down and out in a soft cone, warming surfaces within about 60–80 cm of the base. It suits modern classic, minimalist and warm, earthy rooms, and it holds its own in a bold room without competing.
The light and the fitting
The cone base and the ribbed ball finial are 304-grade stainless steel with a brushed brass finish. Not the sharp shine of polished gold, not flat matte, but a soft warm tone that sits well with wood, dark marble and earthy neutrals. The base has real weight, so the lamp will not tip or slide on a polished top.
The steel will never rust. That is a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.
It is a corded table lamp. Place it near a standard power socket, fit an E27 bulb and switch it on. No fitting work, no electrician. If you want help, we will guide you on a free video call.
The bulb is not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white LED; one in the 6–10W range looks best through the stone. This lamp is not dimmable. It is made for indoor rooms (IP20) and runs on 220–240V.

Vastu guidance on lighting keeps coming back to a few simple ideas. Use warm, soft light in rooms where you rest and gather, and keep harsh overhead light out of the bedroom. A shaded table lamp does that well, because you see the glow, not the bulb.
Vastu writers also prefer fixtures made of natural materials such as stone and metal, and suggest placing lamps on the east or north side of a room. They advise against leaving dark corners. FAQ
Is the dome made from real alabaster?
Yes. Each dome is carved by hand from real natural alabaster. Because it is natural stone, every piece has its own veins and colour.
What bulb does this alabaster table lamp take?
It takes a standard E27 screw bulb, which is not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white LED; a 6–10W LED gives the nicest glow through the stone.
Is this alabaster table lamp dimmable?
No. This light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm 3000K light.
Will the base rust?
No. The base and finial are 304-grade stainless steel with a brushed brass finish. The steel carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.
Will two alabaster table lamps from the same order look identical?
Not exactly. The size, shape and base finish match, but the veins and the exact white of the stone differ from lamp to lamp. That is what makes each one yours.
How do I clean an alabaster table lamp?
Wipe it gently with a dry or very slightly damp soft cloth. Avoid wet cloths, chemical cleaners and abrasives, which can dull the polished stone.
