Overview
A honeycomb glass wall sconce is the rare fixture that earns a second glance even when switched off. Two clear borosilicate glass shades — one cylindrical, one dome-shaped — stack vertically on a matte black metal arm: the upper cylinder houses an antique brass honeycomb mesh cage that filters warm light into a grid of shifting patterns; the lower dome encloses an opal frosted globe that spreads soft, even light in a hemisphere below. At 39 cm tall and 26 cm wide, this two-light sconce brings layered light and visual texture to bedrooms, hallways, living rooms, and dining rooms without demanding a wide wall or a high ceiling.
Where it fits
- Bedroom: Mount a pair on either side of a headboard at 140–150 cm from the floor. The frosted lower globe covers reading and ambience from a single switch; the honeycomb cage above adds warm textural accent. The nightstand stays completely clear.
- Living room feature wall: Position at 170–180 cm to cast patterned warm light across a painted or textured wall. Works as a symmetrical pair flanking a mirror or as individual accents on a wide wall.
- Hallway or entrance foyer: Space two sconces at 180 cm intervals along a corridor. The clear borosilicate glass catches natural light through the day; the honeycomb cage creates visual depth even in a narrow passage after dark.
- Dining room: Flank wall-mounted artwork or a mirror at eye level for a restaurant-quality effect. Browse our full range of wall lights to find complementary styles for a multi-zone scheme.
Why you’ll use it every day
Two light points in one fixture means two jobs handled from a single wall switch. The opal frosted globe in the lower dome gives diffused light gentle enough for winding down — no glare, no hot spots, no squinting when you reach for a book in a dark room. The honeycomb cage in the upper shade creates a warm grid of light and shadow that adds depth to the wall without making the room feel busy. The wall-mounted format claims zero floor space and zero surface space, leaving every centimetre of nightstand and console for the things you actually use.
Light & finish
Switched off, the two clear borosilicate glass shades reflect and refract natural daylight — the antique brass honeycomb cage sits behind the glass like a piece of industrial geometry, visible and interesting without any power running. Switched on, the upper shade produces a warm, patterned glow: light passes through the hexagonal openings and spreads a grid of soft lines across the surrounding wall. The lower dome fills the area with an even hemisphere of soft, diffused light from the opal globe. Matte black metal unifies the arm, backplate, and hardware — a finish that reads cleanly on white walls, disappears against charcoal, and contrasts warmly against sage, navy, or warm taupe.

Vastu
In Vaastu Shastra, a balanced pair of light fixtures placed at equal height on either side of a bed or doorway is associated with harmony and equal energy flow across a room. Antique brass tones are traditionally associated with warmth and prosperity; brass-finish metal accents on the south or west wall of a bedroom or sitting room are considered beneficial for positive energy. Clear borosilicate glass is associated with transparency and openness, while the diffused glow of the opal frosted globe is linked to calm and restful qualities suited to sleep. Placing this sconce as a pair beside a bed or flanking an entrance is a small, practical Vaastu step that makes the room feel consistently balanced and settled.
Care
·Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
·Spot-clean with a pH-neutral cleaner on a cloth — never spray directly.
·Wipe the stainless steel gently dry after cleaning. Avoid abrasives and harsh chemicals.
·Indoor use only unless an IP rating is specified.
·Switch off the circuit before any electrical maintenance.
·Check mounting hardware periodically and tighten if needed.
FAQ
What makes a honeycomb glass wall sconce different from a standard wall light?
The hexagonal mesh cage inside the upper shade creates a warm, patterned glow — light passes through the openings and traces a grid of lines across the surrounding wall — which a plain shade cannot replicate. The lower dome adds a second layer of soft, diffused light from an opal globe, giving one fixture two distinct lighting effects.
How many bulbs does this sconce use, and what type?
Two bulbs — an E27 for the upper cylindrical shade and a G9 for the lower dome shade. Both are sold separately; a warm white LED in each socket gives the most energy-efficient result.
How high should I mount this wall sconce?
For bedside use, centre the sconce at 140–150 cm from the floor beside the headboard. In a hallway or living room, 170–200 cm gives the best spread of light. When installing as a pair, keep 80–100 cm between the two centre points.
Does this sconce work as a single fixture, or is a pair recommended?
It works confidently as a standalone accent beside a mirror, at the end of a corridor, or in a compact room. A pair flanking a headboard or a feature wall creates the best symmetry and the most balanced light distribution.
Which interior styles suit this honeycomb glass wall sconce?
The antique brass cage, clear borosilicate glass, and matte black metal combination is versatile across modern, industrial, art-deco, and transitional interiors. It performs especially well on dark or richly coloured walls where the warm honeycomb glow becomes the visual focal point.
