Overview
Some lights only work when they are on. This double wall light earns a second look even when it is off.
It is a two-light sconce, 39 cm tall. Above the arm, a tall clear borosilicate glass cylinder holds a honeycomb cage in an antique brass finish. Below it, a clear glass bell holds a soft opal globe. Two lights, two moods, one wall.
Some call it a double wall lamp. Others know it as the honeycomb wall light, after the cage inside its upper glass.
Glass, steel and what the light does with them
Borosilicate glass starts as sand. Silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina are melted together until the glass runs crystal-clear. Then it is shaped into a tall cylinder for the top and a bell for the bottom.
Inside the top shade sits a sleeve of 304-grade stainless steel. It is cut with hundreds of small hexagons and finished in antique brass. Inside the bell sits a globe of opal borosilicate glass. It is the same glass, with white added while it was made.
Switch it on and the two halves do different jobs. The honeycomb breaks the bulb into a warm grid of light and shadow on your wall. The opal globe below glows evenly, with no glare and no hot spot. Switched off, the clear glass catches daylight. The brass-finish cage sits behind it like a small piece of geometry.
Where a double wall light works best
Bedroom. Fix a pair on either side of the headboard, centred 140–150 cm from the floor. The opal globe is soft enough for reading. The bedside table stays clear.
Living room. Mount it at 170–180 cm on a painted or textured wall, so the honeycomb pattern spreads across it. Use a pair to frame a mirror, or one alone on a wide wall.
Hallway or entrance. Space sconces about 180 cm apart along a corridor. The glass keeps a narrow passage feeling open in the day. After dark, the cage gives it depth.
Dining room. Hang a pair at eye level either side of artwork or a mirror for a warm, restaurant-style glow. See more bedroom wall lights, living room wall lights and hallway wall lights, or browse all indoor wall lights.
It suits modern, industrial, art-deco, transitional and mid-century rooms. It looks best on charcoal, navy, sage, warm white or taupe walls, next to dark timber. On a heavily carved or gilded traditional wall, the industrial cage can clash.

Light, bulbs and fitting
The arm, backplate and fittings are 304-grade stainless steel in a matte black finish. The honeycomb cage is 304-grade stainless steel in an antique brass finish. Steel like this does not rust. Orders from 4 October 2026 carry a lifetime warranty against rusting on every stainless steel part.
It takes two bulbs, both not included. An E27 goes in the top shade and a G9 in the bottom globe. Fit a 3000K warm-white LED in each. The light is not dimmable. It runs on 220–240 V and is IP20, so it is for indoor walls only.
It is hardwired to the wall. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we give free video-call support while they do. Leave at least 15 cm of clear wall on either side. A standard 240 cm (8 ft) ceiling is enough. For a pair, keep 80–100 cm between the two centres. Our room-by-room guide to choosing wall lights covers heights in more detail.

Free 15-min designer consult →Vastu
Vastu tradition asks for soft, warm light in the bedroom and no harsh light directly over the bed. Wall lights beside the headboard do exactly that. A matched pair at equal height keeps the room balanced. A 3000K warm-white bulb behind opal borosilicate glass gives a calm glow for winding down.
In the living room, Vastu guidance favours warm white light and no dark corners. It prefers layers of light over one ceiling fitting. The north-east is kept bright and clear. This double wall light gives two layers from one point: a soft glow below and a warm pattern above. Clear glass keeps the space feeling open, and steel is a grounding metal.
None of this is a promise of luck. It is a tradition of arranging a home so it feels right to come back to.
Care
·Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
·Spot-clean with a pH-neutral cleaner on a cloth — never spray directly.
·Wipe the stainless steel gently dry after cleaning.
·Avoid abrasives and harsh chemicals.
·Indoor use only unless an IP rating is specified.
·Switch off the circuit before any electrical maintenance.
·Check mounting hardware periodically and tighten if needed.
FAQ
What is a double wall light?
A double wall light has two light points on one backplate. On this one, the top shade throws a warm honeycomb pattern and the bottom opal globe gives a soft, even glow, both from one wall switch.
Which bulbs does it take?
It takes one E27 bulb in the top shade and one G9 bulb in the bottom globe. Bulbs are not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white LED in each.
Is it dimmable?
No. This light is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm 3000K light.
Is the glass real, and will the metal rust?
Yes, the glass is real borosilicate glass: clear for the shades, opal for the globe. The arm, backplate and cage are 304-grade stainless steel, which does not rust, with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.
How high should I mount it?
Centre it 140–150 cm from the floor beside a bed. In a living room or hallway, 170–200 cm spreads the light best. For a pair, keep 80–100 cm between the centres.
Can I get a custom finish, and when will it arrive?
Yes. We make it ourselves, so custom sizes and finishes are made in 15–20 days. In-stock pieces dispatch within 4 working days, and made-to-order pieces in 12–15 working days. Spares stay available for 10+ years.
How do I install and clean it?
Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we offer free video-call support during the install. Switch off, let the glass cool, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth.
