Travertine Pendant Light – Layered Natural Stone and Wood, 20 cm

Some lights fill a room. This one hangs over one place and makes it feel warm. Your dining table. The kitchen island. The side of your bed. This travertine pendant light is a cylinder of real stone under a wide disc of natural wood, and it pours a soft pool of light straight down.

It is built in layers. A small stone cap at the top. A flat wood disc, 20 cm across. Then the travertine cylinder that holds the bulb. The whole piece is just 12 cm tall, on a brown fabric cord. One is enough over a small table. Three in a row look right over a long one.

Real travertine, cut and honed by hand

Travertine is stone formed beneath the earth. Mineral water laid it down, layer by layer, over thousands of years. The small pits you see are where that water once moved through.

Our craftsman reads each block before he cuts it. He turns the cylinder and the cap, hones the outside smooth to the touch and leaves the natural pits open. Then he sets the stone under a disc of natural wood. So no two shades are the same. This is real stone, not a coating made to look like it.

Switch it on and a warm circle of light falls from the open base. Travertine is dense, so it does not glow through like alabaster. Instead the light catches the edge of the stone and the wood disc above it, and the table below turns golden. Switched off, it is a quiet stack of stone and wood.

Where does a travertine pendant light work best?

• Over a dining table: one over a small round table, or three in a row over a long one. Hang the base about 75–85 cm above the table top. See all dining room pendant lights.

Light, fitting and what’s inside

Inside the stone is one E27 holder. The bulb is not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white LED, up to 10 W, for the warmest glow against the stone. It is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm light.

The light runs on 220–240V and is rated IP20 for indoor, dry rooms. The ceiling canopy and cord grip are 304-grade stainless steel in a dark finish, with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.

It hangs on a 1.5 m brown fabric cord as standard, shortened at installation to suit your table, island or bed. It is a hard-wired ceiling pendant. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we help free on a video call.
