Double Glass Pendant Light – Lomelia 25 cm Dome, Gold Finish

Some evenings you want the table lit, not the whole room. This double glass pendant light does exactly that. A soft, round glow falls on the plates, and the bulb stays out of sight.

The Lomelia is two glass domes, one inside the other. The outer dome is 25 cm wide and 15 cm tall, in clear borosilicate glass with a light champagne tint. Inside sits a second shade of opal borosilicate glass. That inner shade is the secret. It hides the bulb completely.

Borosilicate glass, in two layers

Glass starts as earth: silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, melted together. We use borosilicate glass for its clarity and purity. For the outer dome, a champagne tint goes in while the glass is made. For the inner shade, white goes in, and it becomes opal glass.

Then come the hands. Our craftsman seats the two domes together on a gold-finish cap, lining them up so the clear rim of the outer dome runs just past the opal one. Look closely and you’ll see it.

Switch it on and the light passes through the opal shade first. It softens into an even glow with no hot spot. Then it catches the champagne outer glass and leaves a thin warm halo at the rim.

Where a double glass pendant light works best

Over a dining table. One Lomelia suits a round table for two to four. Hang it 75–90 cm above the tabletop.

Over a kitchen island. Hang two or three in a row, 75–90 cm above the counter. The opal shade means no glare in your eyes while you cook.

In a living room. Drop it low over a side table or reading chair, or above a console in a hallway.

In a bedroom. Use it as a bedside light in place of a table lamp, and keep the nightstand free.

Light, fitting and finish

The ceiling canopy and the cap on the glass are 304-grade stainless steel with a gold finish. Steel like this does not rust, and it comes with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.

The round canopy is 10 cm wide and 2.5 cm deep. The shade hangs on a transparent cord of up to 100 cm, for an overall drop of up to 118 cm. Your electrician shortens it to suit your ceiling.

It takes one E27 bulb. The bulb is not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white LED bulb of 4–8 W for the warmest glow through both layers of glass. This light is not dimmable. It is IP20, made for indoor rooms, and runs on 220–240 V.
