Your new chandelier arrived on Friday. The electrician comes on Sunday morning. He opens the box and finds arms, a bag of glass drops, a canopy and a coil of wire.
He turns the box over and asks a simple question: “Where is the drawing?” You call the seller’s number. Nobody picks up on a Sunday.
Then you notice one glass drop is cracked. Now the ladder stands in your hall, and the light sits on the floor.
Chandelier installation is rarely about drilling the hole. The real question is who helps you with this exact light, on this exact day. Below, you will see how a maker and a marketplace seller answer that question.
The short answer
Any licensed electrician can fix a chandelier to your ceiling. The hard part is the light itself: its parts, its wiring and its weight. Buy from someone who answers on fitting day; at JagMag, the team that made your chandelier joins a free video call.
What chandelier installation really involves
Fitting a chandelier is three jobs, not one. The first job is holding the weight safely. The second job is joining the wires. The third job is putting this model together, arm by arm and drop by drop.
A good electrician knows the first two jobs well. He fits ceiling hooks and joins wires every week.
The third job is different. Every chandelier model goes together in its own way. Your electrician has probably never seen your model before.
Weight matters too. Pepperfry’s own chandelier page says larger or heavier pieces need expert installation, so they hang safely from the ceiling.
So the useful help comes from someone who knows your model. The maker knows it best. A seller who only lists the light may not know how the parts go together.
We opened four chandelier listings on Pepperfry. None of the four product pages said anything about installation help. Three said “No Assembly Required” and one said “Self Assembly”. Before you buy, then, it pays to ask a few plain questions.
How to check before your electrician arrives
- Read the listing for a line about installation help, and for the weight.
- Ask the seller who will answer your call on fitting day, and how.
- Open the box the day it arrives and match every part to the parts list.
- Photograph any broken piece at once, because many sellers, ourselves included, set a short time limit for transit damage.
- Ask your electrician to check that the ceiling hook can carry the chandelier’s weight.

Laying the parts out takes ten minutes. Your electrician will thank you, because nothing goes missing halfway up the ladder.
Ask the seller for the assembly drawing a day before fitting day, not on the day. A photo on WhatsApp is enough for most electricians.
Keep the box and the packing until the light is up and working. A broken part is easier to claim with the box in hand.

Where the marketplace is better
Some marketplaces will send a fitter. Pepperfry says it offers installation services for large pieces. Home-service apps such as Urban Company also list chandelier installation, with a service guarantee of up to 30 days.
We do not send a fitter to your home. Our FAQ says installation is generally not included, and a local electrician does the work.
Some marketplace listings also print the weight on the page. Your electrician can then plan the hook before the box arrives.
What we do at JagMag
JagMag Lights is a decorative lighting manufacturer in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, making lights since 2015. We make every chandelier we sell in our own factory. So when your electrician has a question, the answer comes from the people who built the light.
Take our fabric shade chandelier in gold and walnut. Walnut grows for decades before it reaches our bench. We shape and polish the wood and let the grain show. Each ivory shade is fitted to its arm by hand. Any licensed electrician can fit the chandelier to a standard ceiling rose, with our team on a free video call.

Our crystal ball chandelier works the same way. The product page says a qualified electrician can install it in 60 to 90 minutes, with a free video call included.
If a part arrives broken, tell us within 24 hours of delivery, as our Legal Policies, section 4.2, explain. We keep spare parts for 10+ years. Every metal part is 304 stainless steel, the same grade as a good kitchen sink.
A warm light in the centre of the hall also suits Vastu thinking, which values a bright, calm centre to the home.

FAQs
Who does chandelier installation in India?
A licensed electrician does chandelier installation in most Indian homes. Some marketplaces and home-service apps can send one for a fee. A good maker can also guide your own electrician on a video call.
How long does it take to install a chandelier?
A small chandelier can take 20 to 30 minutes, and a large crystal chandelier 60 to 90 minutes, going by our own product pages. Your ceiling hook and wiring can add time.
Can I install a chandelier myself?
Leave chandelier installation to a licensed electrician, because the job needs safe wiring and a hook that holds the weight. Switch off the mains before anyone touches the wires.
Does JagMag install chandeliers at home?
No, JagMag does not send a fitter. We give free video-call support while your own electrician fits the light.
What should I do if a chandelier part arrives broken?
Photograph the broken part and the box, and tell the seller at once. At JagMag, report transit damage within 24 hours of delivery to have it sorted.
Nature gives the material. Human hands give it meaning. Light brings it to life.
