Know your light
This alabaster bowl chandelier hangs a hand-cut stone bowl from three bronze chains, with a turned walnut ring floating just above it. The bowl faces upward, so light bounces off your ceiling and comes back down soft. At 36 cm across it suits a dining table or an entry hall.
Where it fits
An alabaster bowl chandelier works where you want light without glare.
- Over a dining table: Hang the bowl 75-90 cm above the surface. Nobody looks into a bulb across dinner.
- Entry halls and foyers: The chain drop is adjustable, so it suits a normal 9 ft ceiling or a double-height entry.
- Living rooms: Centre it where you want the room to feel taller. Uplight does that.
- Hotel lobbies and restaurants: Warm, indirect light that photographs well and does not blind a seated guest.
Why you will use it every day
Most ceiling lights point at you. This one does not.
The bowl of this alabaster bowl chandelier opens upward. Light hits the ceiling first, spreads, and falls back into the room as a wide, even wash. There is no bright spot to catch your eye and no hard shadow under the table.
Then there is the stone itself. Light passing through natural alabaster picks up the veining inside the block, so the bowl glows from its own surface as well as bouncing light off the ceiling. You get two layers at once.
Hand-cut from natural alabaster — which means no two are alike. The veins run differently. The colour shifts. The edges darken where the stone is denser. Light it up and you get a glow that belongs to your piece and nothing else. One block of stone. One light. Never repeated.
The walnut ring is the detail people notice second. It breaks up what would be a plain run of chain and ties the fixture to wooden furniture below.
The LED is built in at 3000K, so there is no bulb to buy or match. We make it in our own Greater Noida factory and hold spare parts for 10+ years — on a piece at this price, that matters more than the discount.
Light & finish
Switched on, the alabaster bowl chandelier does two things at once. The stone glows white-gold from within, and the ceiling above it lifts into a soft pool of warm light.
The effect is closest to candlelight scaled up. Nothing glares, nothing flickers, and the light reaches the corners of a room instead of pooling in one spot.
Unlit, it reads as sculpture. Pale stone, dark bronze chain, warm walnut — three materials, no ornament. The bronze balls sitting under the bowl rim are the only decoration, and they catch just enough light to register.
Vaastu & positive energy
A ceiling light at the centre of the main hall is well regarded in Vaastu for drawing energy into a home.
This alabaster bowl chandelier sends its light upward, which is generally read as an expansive, rising quality rather than a downward press. The 3000K tone is warm, suiting rooms meant for gathering and eating rather than sharp task work.
Alabaster is a natural mineral and walnut a natural wood, so the piece carries earth and warmth rather than the harder feel of all-metal fixtures. The bowl has no sharp corners — rounded overhead forms are the ones Vaastu tends to favour.

Common questions
How high should an alabaster bowl chandelier hang over a dining table?
75-90 cm from the tabletop to the bottom of the bowl. Tell us your ceiling height when you order and we cut the chain to suit, so it arrives ready to hang.
Does the alabaster bowl chandelier need a bulb?
No. The LED is integrated at 3000K warm white. Nothing to buy, nothing to match, and no visible lamp inside the bowl.
Will every alabaster bowl chandelier look the same?
No. Each bowl is cut from natural stone, so veining, colour and the darker patches differ from one to the next. The piece you receive is the piece nobody else has.
Why does the bowl face upward?
So the light reaches you indirectly. It hits the ceiling, spreads, and returns as an even wash — no glare into the eyes of anyone seated below, and no harsh shadow across a dining table.
How much light does it give?
Enough for ambient light across a 10-12 seater dining room. Because it is uplight, plan on task lighting elsewhere if you read or work in the same room.
Can I get the alabaster bowl chandelier in a different size?
Yes. We manufacture in-house, so bowl diameter, chain length and metal finish can all change. Custom runs take 15-20 days against 60-120 days for an imported equivalent.
How do I clean it?
Dust the bowl with a dry microfibre cloth. For marks, use a barely damp cloth and dry it straight after — natural stone should not be left wet or cleaned with anything acidic. Planning a dining room or a foyer? Send us the room dimensions and we will tell you whether this size works.
