Overview
The day is done. You switch off the big light, and one small glow stays on beside the bed. This travertine saucer light is made to be that glow: real stone beside your bed that lights the ceiling and your nightstand at once. Want the same stone on a wall or ceiling? It stacks three parts. A wide saucer of travertine sits on top. A rust-brown steel collar sits under it, and an opal borosilicate glass globe hangs below. It is 25 cm across and 14 cm tall, small enough for a matched pair beside a bed.
Real travertine, shaped by hand
Travertine is stone formed beneath the earth. Mineral water laid it down layer by layer. Those layers show as soft bands, and the small pits are where the water once moved through.
Our craftsman reads each block before he cuts the saucer. He shapes the gentle curve and leaves the natural pits and banding open. So no two saucers are the same. This is real stone, not a coating made to look like it.
Switch it on and the opal globe glows soft and even below. Warm light washes the underside of the stone in amber and spills up the wall behind it. Switched off, it is a quiet stack of pale stone, deep rust brown and white glass on a slim black cord.
Why a saucer light works better at a bedside
Most small pendants only throw light down. This one works twice. The opal globe softens the bulb into a glare-free glow below, and the wide saucer above bounces light back onto the ceiling.
So a small room feels lifted, not spot-lit. You notice it most at a bedside, where a bare downlight feels harsh but a dark ceiling feels gloomy. The rust-brown collar in between stops the cream stone and white glass from reading flat.
Where does this saucer light work best?

- Beside a vanity mirror: the opal globe gives soft, even light on your face, not a hard downward beam. It is rated IP20, so keep it in a dry, well-ventilated spot, well clear of the shower and splash zones.

It suits mid-century, organic-modern and warm-minimal homes, in a period room or a new flat. It looks best with walnut, brass, plaster and green tile.
Light, fitting and the steel inside
It takes one standard E27 bulb. The bulb is not included; fit a 3000K warm-white LED for the softest glow through the opal glass. It is not dimmable. It gives a fixed warm light.
The collar is 304-grade stainless steel in a rust-brown finish. It carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. The light runs on 220–240V and is rated IP20 for indoor use.
It hangs on a slim black cord, 1.5 m as standard, shortened at installation to suit your bed or table. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we help free on a video call.

Vastu tradition asks for soft, warm light in the bedroom, mainly in the evening. It prefers a shaded glow over a bare bulb, and it advises against a strong light glaring straight down on the bed. A bedside pendant with an opal globe and a 3000K warm-white LED gives exactly that kind of low, gentle light, beside the bed rather than over it.
Vastu writers also favour fixtures made of natural materials such as stone, wood and metal over plastic. They suggest placing more lights along the north and east walls, and keeping the south-east, the fire zone, free of the main light source.
