Travertine Dome Pendant Light – Bedside Pendant Lamp, Wood and Opal Glass Globe, 17 cm

The lamp on your nightstand is gone. In its place, a small dome of stone hangs at shoulder height and glows. This bedside pendant lamp gives you soft light where you read, and a clear table below.

It is a 15 cm dome of real travertine, set over an opal borosilicate glass globe and topped with a turned wood ball. It stands just 17 cm tall. Switched off, it looks like a small sculpture.

Real travertine, cut and honed by hand

Travertine is stone formed beneath the earth. Mineral water laid it down layer by layer, and those layers show as soft bands. The small pits are where water once moved through the stone.

Our craftsman in Greater Noida cuts each dome from the block, shapes the curve and hones the surface smooth. He leaves the natural pits open. No two domes carry the same bands or pits, because no two pieces of stone are alike.

Under the stone sits a globe of opal borosilicate glass. It is melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, with white colour added as the glass is made. The turned wood ball on top ties the piece to a wooden bed or table.

Switch it on and the globe glows soft and even. Warm light catches the stone’s rim, and the bands in the travertine look deeper.

Where a bedside pendant lamp works best

• Beside your bed: hang one on each side, the bottom 50–70 cm above the nightstand. At 15 cm wide, it is a small pendant light for the bedroom that never crowds the headboard.
• Over a dining table: run two or three in a row, 75–85 cm above the tabletop, for a warm line of stone and light.
• Over a kitchen counter or breakfast bar: a pair, 70–80 cm above the counter, puts a soft glow where you cook and eat.
• Over a work desk: one pendant gives a calm, low-glare glow over your table.
• Entry, hallway or landing: a single piece gives a small space a soft, earthy glow.

The opal globe hides the bulb, so there is no glare in your eyes. The stone dome sends most of the light down, onto your book, your plate or your table.

It sits well in Japandi, wabi-sabi and warm-modern rooms: linen, limewash, raw plaster and warm timber.

Light, fitting and the cord

It takes one G9 bulb. The bulb is not included; fit a 3000K warm-white LED of 3–4 W for the softest glow through the opal glass. It runs on 220–240V.

This light is not dimmable. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms only.

It hangs on a brown twisted fabric cord, 1.5 m as standard, shortened at installation to suit your bed or table. The small collar between the wood ball and the stone is 304-grade stainless steel in a gold finish. It carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.
