Know your light
This brass mirror light is the classic picture-light form done properly: a half-round brass shade with a scalloped lower edge, carried on a swan-neck arm off a square backplate. The head tilts, so you aim the light where you want it. Over a mirror it lights your face; over art it lights the canvas.
Where it fits
A brass mirror light earns its place anywhere you have something worth looking at.
- Above a bathroom mirror: Light falls onto your face from above and in front, which is what you want for shaving or make-up.
- Over a hallway console mirror: The warm brass and scalloped edge read as decorative even before you switch it on.
- Above artwork: Tilt the head down and it washes a canvas evenly, the way a gallery would light it.

Why you will use it every day
Most wall lights are fixed. This one aims.
The knuckle joint behind the shade lets you tilt the head through a useful arc. That single feature is the difference between a light that decorates a wall and one that actually does a job — and it is why a brass mirror light works equally well over a mirror, a painting or a shelf.
The shade is a half-cylinder, open underneath, so all the light goes downward and none of it into your eyes. The scalloped edge is the part people comment on. It softens what would otherwise be a plain metal tube and throws a gently wavy line of light onto whatever sits below.
Solid brass ages rather than peels. The antique finish already has depth to it, and it will keep deepening — it does not flake the way lacquered or plated finishes do after a few years in an Indian bathroom.

Light & finish
Switched on, the brass mirror light throws a contained pool of warm light straight down. The inside of the shade bounces it, so the beam is soft-edged rather than a hard spot.
Because the shade sits forward of the wall on its arm, the light lands on the mirror or picture rather than washing the wall behind it. That is the whole point of the swan-neck: it puts the source in front of what it is lighting.
Unlit, it reads as an object. Aged brass against pale plaster, deep green or oxblood walls all work — this is a finish that suits a traditional room as readily as a modern one, which is rare.

A brass mirror light places that metal at eye level in an entrance, dressing area or hallway — the parts of a home that set the tone as you arrive. Downward warm light is generally preferred over harsh overhead glare in these spaces.
Mirrors themselves carry weight in Vaastu, and lighting one properly rather than leaving it in shadow is usually considered the better arrangement. The scalloped edge keeps the form soft, with no sharp points aimed into the room.

Where does a brass mirror light work best?
Above a bathroom or dressing mirror, over a hallway console mirror, above framed artwork, or aimed into a bar niche. Fix it 15-20 cm above the top edge of whatever it is lighting.
Can the head be angled?
Yes. The shade sits on a knuckle joint behind the head, so you can tilt it up or down after installation. Aim it at the middle of the mirror or canvas and it lights the whole surface evenly.
Can I use the brass mirror light in a bathroom?
Over a vanity in a dry, well-ventilated bathroom, yes. It is IP20, so keep it clear of the shower and away from direct splashing. For wet zones ask us about our IP65 range.
How wide should the mirror be?
As a rule, the mirror or frame should be roughly one and a half to two times the width of the light. Much wider and the pool of light looks lost; much narrower and the fixture overwhelms it.
Will the brass finish tarnish?
It is aged brass, so it is meant to develop character rather than stay factory-bright. Wipe it with a dry soft cloth. Avoid brass polish unless you want to strip the antique finish back.
Can I get the brass mirror light in a different size or finish?
Yes. We manufacture in-house, so shade length, arm projection and finish can all be changed. Custom runs take 15-20 days against 60-120 days for an imported equivalent.
Does it come with a switch?
