Overview
Switch it on and a small moon lights up on your table. This globe table lamp sets a ball of opal borosilicate glass on a soft taupe capsule base. The light comes out round, even and warm, with no glare in your eyes.
It stands 33 cm tall. The globe is 15 cm across. The base is only 10.5 cm wide, so it fits a narrow bedside table and still leaves room for your book and your phone.

Why a globe table lamp feels so calm
A shade throws light up and down. A globe sends it out all around. That is why a globe table lamp fills a corner with one soft pool of light instead of a hard spot.
The colour helps too. Taupe sits between grey and beige. Next to white walls it looks warm. Next to dark wood it looks quiet. Switched off, it is still a clean little sculpture on your table.
Opal borosilicate glass, shaped by fire and hands
The globe is borosilicate glass. It begins as silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, melted together in a furnace. White colour goes in while the glass is made, and that turns it into opal borosilicate glass.
A glassmaker blows the hot glass into a round ball, then lets it cool slowly so it stays strong. The milky opal body spreads the bulb’s light evenly. You never see a hot point. You see a glow.
Under it, the capsule base is 304-grade stainless steel with a matte taupe finish. Steel is the quiet frame here. The glass does the talking.

Light, bulb and fitting
The globe table lamp takes one G9 bulb, up to 60W. The bulb is not included. Fit a 3000K warm-white LED for the softest, most restful glow.
This light is not dimmable. It plugs into any normal socket. The black cord is 1.5 m long, with an inline on/off switch 30 cm from the lamp, so you can switch it off without getting out of bed.
The globe lifts off the base, so changing the bulb takes a minute. There is no fabric shade to dust. It runs on 220–240V and is rated IP20, made for indoor rooms.
The steel base will never rust. It carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026. You can read the details in our legal policies. Need help setting it up? We offer free video-call support.

Vastu
Vastu guidance for the bedroom asks for soft, warm light near the bed, and no harsh light shining straight down on it. A shaded or diffused table lamp at the bedside is the classic answer. The opal globe does exactly that: the bulb stays hidden and the light spreads gently.
Many Vastu writers favour lamps on the east or north side of a room, and a home with no dark corners. In a living room, a warm lamp in a dim corner does this well. They also prefer natural materials to plastic. Here that means glass melted from sand and minerals, on a steel base.
Vastu is a tradition of arranging a home so it feels right. We don’t promise luck. We make a warm, honest light that helps a room feel calm.
