Overview
Hundreds of natural rattan rods, fanned out like the rays of the sun. This pendant is built from thin rattan rods bound into two wide, stepped rings that flare out from a central cone. The bulb sits inside the cone, and when it is switched on, light pours through the open rods and throws long, striped shadows across the ceiling and walls. It is 60 cm (2 ft) across and just 20 cm (8 in) deep — wide and dramatic, but light and airy to look at.
Where it fits
- Over a dining table — the 60 cm spread suits a 4–6 seat table and makes a strong focal point.
- Living rooms — a centre light that fills the ceiling with soft, striped shadows.
- Low or beamed ceilings — at only 20 cm deep it sits close to the ceiling without hanging heavy.
- Boho, coastal, farmhouse and Japandi interiors — wood, linen, plaster, cane and warm neutrals.

Why you’ll love it
The open-rod design is what makes this light special: instead of a solid shade, the rods let light stream out in rays, so the shadow pattern on your walls and ceiling becomes part of the décor. Rattan is a natural, lightweight material, and because each piece is handmade, the rods vary slightly in tone and spacing. The cone hides the bulb from most angles, so the light feels warm rather than glaring.
Light & material
The shade is natural rattan rods, bound into a two-tier stepped brim with a central cone, on a black canopy and suspension. One bulb sits inside the cone. With a warm white LED bulb (2700–3000K) it gives a warm ambient glow with dramatic striped shadows — atmosphere lighting rather than bright task light.

Fit
Vastu
In Vaastu, natural plant fibres like rattan are linked with the wood element — growth, freshness and vitality. The radiating, sun-like form is traditionally associated with energy and warmth, and soft, warm light over a dining or gathering space is considered welcoming. These are traditional associations, not guaranteed outcomes.
