Overview
A glass jhumar is only as good as its smallest leaf. Lose one, and the whole fixture looks tired. This mango leaf glass chandelier part puts it right.
It is a long, slender mango leaf in amber borosilicate glass, 240 mm from tip to stem. Deep ribbed veins run out from its centre line, the edges are notched, and the tip turns in a gentle twist. A short glass stem and two small holes along the centre vein let you hang it. It is a spare part, not a light: a box of 100 amber glass leaves for the chandelier you already love or the one you are building.
What is this amber glass leaf made of?
Borosilicate glass. It begins as natural raw ingredients: silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, melted together until they run like honey.
The amber colour is added to the glass while it is being made, so it runs right through the leaf. It is not a paint or a coating, and it will not wipe off.
Our glassworkers shape the molten glass into the leaf, press in the veins and give the tip its twist, in our own Greater Noida factory. Borosilicate glass handles heat better than ordinary glass and resists thermal shock and corrosion. It is strong enough to take normal fixture loads and bulb heat, yet light and easy to fit.
What does amber glass do to the light?
Light passes through the leaf and comes out warm, like honey held up to a window. The ribbed veins catch it and scatter a soft sparkle along the length of the leaf.
Because the tip is twisted, each leaf catches the glow from more than one angle. Hang many together and the whole jhumar seems to move. Amber suits classic brass-toned fixtures and modern ones alike.
Where does a 240 mm mango leaf fit?
At 240 mm long, 60 mm wide and 5 mm thick, it is one of our longer leaves. It gives a fixture length and a strong, natural line.
Use it on chandeliers and jhumars, hanging lights, wall lights, table lamps and floor lamps. Fabricators and designers use it to build new fixtures. Restorers use it to replace leaves that broke or went missing. It also mixes well with other glass leaves and balls on the same piece.

Is this a finished light?
No. It is a box of amber glass leaves, a spare part for a chandelier or lamp you already have or are building. It has no holder, bulb or wiring.
How big is each mango glass leaf?
Each leaf is 240 mm long, 60 mm wide and 5 mm thick. That makes it one of our longer leaves.
How many leaves come in a box?
There are 100 amber glass leaves in every box. That is enough to dress a large jhumar or restore several fixtures.
Is the amber colour painted on?
No. The amber colour is added to the borosilicate glass while it is made, so it runs right through the leaf. It will not peel, fade with cleaning or wipe off.
How do I hang it?
Each leaf has a short glass stem and two small holes along its centre vein. Hang it from your fixture the same way the old leaves were hung, or send us a photo and we will help.
How do I clean the glass leaves?
Switch the light off and let it cool first. Wipe each leaf with a soft cloth and mild soapy water, then dry it. Avoid rough pads, which can scratch the veins.
