Overview
Some walls just need a little sparkle in the evening. This textured glass wall light gives you that. One clear swirled shade, one warm bulb, and a wall that comes alive with soft ripples of light.
It is a single-light sconce. A round chrome-finish plate sits on the wall. A short stem and a curved black arm hold a clear borosilicate glass shade, 15 cm across, with spiral ribs running round it. The fixture stands 51 cm tall and projects 22 cm from the wall.
What is borosilicate glass, and why does the swirl matter?
Borosilicate glass starts as natural raw ingredients: silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina. They are melted together into glass that stays crystal-clear and pure.
The spiral ribs are shaped into the glass while it is still molten. In our factory, hands then fit the shade to its chrome cup, and assemble the arm and plate around it.
Switch it on and the glass does the work. The ribs break the bulb point into a soft spread of light, with a pattern of light and shadow across the wall. The glass is clear, so it adds sparkle without tinting the light. Off, the rippled surface still catches daylight and gives a plain wall some quiet texture.
Where does a clear glass wall sconce work best?
Living room. Hang a matched pair either side of a sofa, a mirror or the TV wall. Two shades at the same height give the room symmetry and a warm layer of accent light.
Hallway or landing. The 12 cm plate sits close to the wall. The glow makes a passage feel welcoming, not harshly lit.
Bedroom. The 22 cm projection keeps the shade clear of pillows. The light is gentle enough to read or wind down without waking your partner.
Entryway. The swirled shade catches a guest’s eye the moment they walk in. A small space feels considered.
It suits white, off-white, greige and grey rooms, and rooms with chrome, silver or brushed-nickel touches: mirrors, handles, taps, picture frames. It also sits well beside linen or cotton textiles and marble. Heavy dark wood panelling or a warm-gold-only palette may clash with the chrome.
Light, fitting and frame
The plate, stem and holder cup are 304-grade stainless steel with a polished chrome finish. Stainless steel does not rust. We give a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.
It takes one E14 (small-screw) bulb, up to 40 W. The bulb is not included; fit a 3000K warm-white LED for the warmest glow. Voltage is 220–240 V. The light is not dimmable. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor walls only, so keep it out of bathrooms and outdoor areas.
Mount the centre of the plate 150–160 cm from the floor for a bedside or ambient light. For a pair around a mirror or headboard, set both plates at the same height and clear the frame by 5–10 cm on each side. Allow at least 100 × 100 cm of clear wall and a ceiling of 240 cm or more. Keep curtains and furniture clear of the 22 cm projection.
It fits brick, concrete, plasterboard or timber-stud walls with the right fixings for your wall. The 12 cm plate covers a standard back-box opening. Any licensed electrician can fit it in 20–30 minutes, and we give free video-call support.
